I wasn't as disappointed with the GoT finale as some people.
However, tell me where the lie is in my scorecard:
Number of women who wrote an episode of Game of Thrones: 2 women wrote four episodes of the entire run of 73 episodes. (Jane Espenson FTW!)
Number of women who directed an episode of Game of Thrones: 1 woman directed 4 episodes of the entire run of 73 episodes
Male characters who committed horrible acts who had redemptive arcs: Tyrion, Jaime, Theon, Jorah
Female characters who were empowered who had to die horrible deaths: Cersei, Daenerys, Ellaria, Oleanna, Margaery, Caetlyn
Female characters who had to die because they were "crazy bitches": Cersei, Daenerys
Female characters who were killed because they were "whores": Ros, Shae, Tysha (Tyrion's first love)
Male characters who survived who went to whorehouses: Bronn, Tyrion, Podrick
To be fair, male characters who were castrated (stem and root): Varys, Theon, Grey Worm, The Unsullied (frankly an incredibly stupid idea for soldiers).
(For those of you unfamiliar with the history of castration, it's been fairly unusual to "dock" or cut off the penis as it leads to constant urinary tract infections and piddling in your pants. Historically they just take the testicles. Yes, I'm saying GRRM has a fucking issue that Freud would be delighted to discuss.)

To be fair, I'd argue that an obsession with dicks is not counterindicated by an all-male writers room.
