S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Rome -- what an episode! Vorenus makes a really scary gang lord. That was a mess just waiting to explode. And Cicero's kiss-off of Anthony rocked. But I really enjoyed the scene of Brutus, divesting himself of his foreign clothes, seeking his own gods even far from his homeland.

And much the same, Pullo's faith is just beautiful. He goes where the gods tell him to, and look what he finds. I have so much love.

Of course, now I'm on pins waiting to see if Attia actually dies, and what happens when Pullo finds Vorenus in Gaul!

Is that what Brutus was doing? I didn't really understand that bit.

I can't remember, does Vorenus have a connection to Octavian or is he an Antony man all the way?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I think he was looking to get a new start, and he sought out a baptism and his own gods to do it. Either way, it was a powerful scene.

He was always Antony ( and Caesar's) man. Pullo had the connection to Vorenus, as they had mutual interests for awhile--Antony hired him to teach Octavian how to fight, and Octavian and Pullo conspired to have Vorenus' brother in law killed. Now that Vorenus has followed Antony to Gaul, and Pullo is following, it will be interesting to see if they both end up on Antony's side or Octavian's.

Damn spoilers! I've forgotten the finger points of Agrippa's role, and I almost wikied him but decided I'd rather be reminded by suprise.

I can understand how they can't afford this show, though. Every single scene is beauty.

Agreed. I got the new start, but I didn't make the connection to foreign garb in a foreign land and calling on his own gods. Reinforcing his Roman-ness. Interesting.

Thanks for the recap of V and P's involvement with Octavian. I thought that was it, but it was a while ago and I can't keep all these characters and their relationships in my head. So, there will be hard decisions made, however it shakes out.

Now that Vorenus has followed Antony to Gaul, and Pullo is following, it will be interesting to see if they both end up on Antony's side or Octavian's.

The potential's there for them to end up on opposing sides. If Vorenus doesn't pull his head out of his ass soon. I think Pullo likes and respects Octavian--and would certainly follow him. I just hope Vorenus realizes that Octavian is the one protecting the Republic (go Pax Romana!) and that Antony just wants to be another tyrant.

I think the biggest reason I love those two is because they were real (mentioned in Julius Ceasar's writings) but we have no idea how they turned out. The rest of the characters have documentation. So, no historical spoilers for Lucius and Pullo.

Yep. The overgrown hair, the messy beard; but the most telling thing was the mantle over the long tunic. It fit him beautifully, but it was definitely Turkish. And you could see, writ in every line of his body, how tired he was being away from home. From Rome, from civilisation. It was reflected in Attia's same wariness about going to Macedonia.

The potential's there for them to end up on opposing sides. If Vorenus doesn't pull his head out of his ass soon. I think Pullo likes and respects Octavian--and would certainly follow him. This is very true. I mean, I hope that Vorenus has found some small part of himself while exiling himself in Gaul, or will come back to himself when Pullo tells him his children are alive. But I could easily see it going the other way too. I also don't expect Antony to just let Vorenus go in the middle of civil war, even if his children are in need of rescue. So that'll be an interesting conflict.

So, no historical spoilers for Lucius and Pullo.

Also, they are so fantastically three dimensional and deep. I could watch just the Vorenus and Pullo show and be happy. I love them.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I saw my first full episode of EXTRAS last night, after catching only the Bowie portion of the last episode, and while at times it was almost watch-from-hall cringe-worthy (though still funny), it also made me laugh like drain. Daniel Radcliffe was absolutely hysterical, and his interactions with Diana Rigg were priceless. I'm ashamed to say I totally didn't recognize who she was until DR asked her if she still had the Avengers cat suit.
