Edward James Olmos' character was a figment of Colin Hank's character's imagination. (I can't remember anyone's names!) He'd been dead for the past three years or so (killed by Colin), but Colin thought he was still alive and would always have conversations with him and carrying out his orders.

It's weird, I have a portion of my brain devoted to "Is there anyone imaginary in this scenario?" while watching everything. No, that's not weird. What's weird is that everyone doesn't have that. Haven't we all seen both The Sixth Sense and something else with the same conceit? It just saves time, and helps you pick up on other details.
