Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Deb decided she was in love with Dexter. They're technically not biologically related.

Oh, that's incest enough for me, thanks.

But now I can tell him I know another couple things he doesn't know. It will be both irritating and vindicating.

OK- as we know from Natter I don't mind being spoiled, but whoah. I only watched the first season and I thought they had such good non-romantic chemistry.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Yeah, I'm so glad I gave up watching this season because that little tidbit would have put me WAY WAY off.

Just no.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yeah, it was a bad decision by the writers imho, and I'm hoping that they back down from it and make it that the therapist was intentionally messing with her to make her reach that conclusion for some reason. I am looking forward to seeing what happens now that Deb has seen Dexter kill someone, but I don't want it all mixed up with the incesty stuff.

I *love* good sibling relationships--they're like catnip to me, but even incest overtones ruin all of that for me. You pretty much have to be a Lannister, and then I already hated you.

They did. I always gave the actors a lot of credit for being married in real life and being able to pull off a sibling chemistry with no romantic look to it at all, and now they actors are divorced and the writers decide that Deb has always been in love with Dexter? Not enough ick in the world.

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

The whole incest thing was just so out of the blue too. Deb never even considered that she might be in love with Dexter until the therapist planted that idea.

Then again, I thought they were heading toward a lesbian relationship between Deb and the therapist, so I obviously have a problem reading situations on this show!

Wow... I had no idea! I've always loved the sibling chemistry between the two!

Word.

I think they started dating in S1 or S2, had a whirlwind romance, got married, stayed married for about 6 months and then divorced. I think they hid the relationship from everyone too.

I think at the time he was married to Amy Spanger, who is a Broadway actress also in Reefer Madness with Julie Benz's ex-husband and Kristen Bell.

I think they were married for closer to a year and a half, but the rest sounds about right.
