Gunn: Well, how horrible is this thing? Lorne: I haven't read the Book of Revelations lately, but if I was searching for adjectives, I'd probably start there.

'Hell Bound'

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The gag reel on this one was fun, though too short. I don't do commentaries though.

hip deep in pie

The other one, with Kripke isn't all that exciting either.

Art Crawl!!!

The commentary with JP and JA was cute. . . and uninformative.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Maybe Bryan Fuller and Todd Holland (and Caroline Dhavernas and Katie Finneran) have spoiled me, but commentaries are the principal reason I buy or rent DVDs of things I've already seen.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I think they depend a great deal on the people doing the talking. Hugely meta or insightful people, one kind of commentary (e.g. "Objects in Space"); hilarious people teasing one another, a different kind (3/4 of the Farscape commentaries I have heard). Personally I prefer a good mix of "this is how we did that" and "this is why" and some funny stories.

(My gold standard for solo commentary is John Frankenheimer. Groups commentaries are a total crapshoot, as it turns out that people who make their living saying other people's words? Don't necessarily have any coherent words of their own.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I really liked the Colin Ferguson-led group commentaries for the Eureka episodes. With a natural (and relaxed) leader, they stayed on topic and were enjoyable.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

My gold standard for solo commentary is John Frankenheimer.

Which movie? MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE or something else?

Those better be on the discs that will be out very soon, right? RIGHT?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Natural and relaxed leader.

Hmm.

Cool.

Seekrit message to Cash: SPN S1 is on sale at Amazon right now for $40. I just ordered it two days ago. Mmm, koolaid.

Franken, they're also on iTunes as a podcast. (Though I second your enthusiasm about the disks coming out soon. (Though I have them on Tivo (and may be pimping them this weekend), so...)))

Haven't posted in days and I'm abusing parentheses. I blame the Winchesters.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Okay, I'll admit that I loved the Family Guy commentaries. Which seemed to be about 90% "I can't believe we snuck this past the censors, and Seth Green, did you bring enough snacks for all of us?"
