Jeez, don't get all Movie of the Week. I was just too cheap to buy you a real present.

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Maybe release comes when the ninth is mortally wounded.

Maybe the same higher being that was assigned to Warren Beatty in Heaven Can Wait was getting a bit ahead of himself here, too.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

So you've seen the first three, and Route 666. Hmm. You're totally made of sterner stuff than me.

I have to admit, the first several episodes had me going "...okay..." rather than flailing wildly. I mean, I liked it well enough, but I wasn't emotionally engaged. The House episode you've cited didn't actually slay me either - although I was more "...aw. Bless!" than formerly.

I mainlined Season 1, and I think it was Faith when I started to grok the Deanlove. And then of course the Wicked Witch one had me aboard the woobietrain pretty sharpish. YMMV - I think that seeing everyone else flail can make one less likely to flail, because there's so much buildup.

(...but, Winchesters! Two generations of profoundly fucked up badass disfunctional woobie manhood! Who are HOT like WOAH! And togethah they fight crime demons!)

Um. Yeah. Anyway.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I continue to maintain that John Winchester is hot like woah, and I hope that his sons will march into Hell to free him, because that would be the best EVER, and he is the badassest and the hottest, and LOVE.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

New tag line after watching last night's Daily Show.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

New tag line after watching last night's Daily Show.

I almost hurt myself laughing when I saw that. SC is such a big old geek it wouldn't surprise me if he was a HEROES fan.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hee!

Our wings are not tired.

Note to self: catch 8pm reshowing of TDS. (which I typed TFDS, which works too)

I've decided that Niki/Jessica's power includes splitting into 2 bodies. We'll have a chick fight wrestling match at some point.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I have to admit, the first several episodes had me going "...okay..." rather than flailing wildly.

Yeah, me too. And "Home" didn't ping me on a first watch nearly as much as it does now, on rewatch. I watched the entire first season in one weekend (thanks, amyth!) and while I really enjoyed it, and loved a bunch of the episodes, I don't think the flail actually set in for me until sometime during the second season. Something about needing more time with the characters to let them settle in my head, maybe. But I'm rewatching season 1 with a friend now and there is definitely flail.

I'd say my essential SPN eps are:

"Pilot"
"Phantom Traveler" (okay, it's just a one-off, but it's HYSTERICAL)
"Home"
"Scarecrow"
"Faith"
"The Benders" (for Sheriff Kathleen!)
"Hell House"
"Something Wicked" (OMG tiny!Sam and tiny!Dean!)
"Dead Man's Blood" through "In My Time of Dying"
"Bloodlust"
"Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things"
"Hunted"
"Night Shifter"

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Eh, I don't know. I enjoy the show, but without the flailing. It's fun show, with solid writing, good acting, and attractive leads, but I've watched the show mostly in order (I think I missed "Bugs" and "Skin" from S1) and when I got to the phone scene in "Home", I sort of... laughed at the emotional string-pulling and rolled my eyes a little bit, and that's been my main response since whenever they bring out the emo porn. I like it better when the boys are snarky and are shooting stuff. Plus, I love being spooked (but hate the gore of most mainstream horror flicks) so I dig the MotW most of the time, when it's not, you know, racist ghost truck.

I think the whole family thing is a particular button that needs to be pushed in order to tip people over to flaily territory, and I just don't have it. Plus, the boys are very pretty and I can see they're objectively hot, but I'm not... attracted to either of them, which makes me a vanishing minority. Their antics remind me of my little brothers too much. Well, without the demon-possession and rock-salt shooting and being wanted by the police thing. I mostly want to ruffle their hair and thwap them on the side of their heads when they're being stupid.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I think all of my flailing is currently being used up on SGA, though now that there are no more new eps of that for ages and ages, maybe I'll have spare flail.
