ASH reminds me of Anthony Hopkins playing Hannibal Lector. Something about the hair and the suit. Very creepy.

Love SJS and Rose getting catty with each other. It's going to be a bumpy ride in the Tardis...

I was itty-bitty watching the older Doctor Who's, so I don't remember anything other than the theme music (which still makes me nostalgic), but I loved the instant "implied" existing relationship with Sarah Jane, the weight of all that had come before, that there was this valid friendship, and the sadness that the Doctor had in sending her home, and away from him. Loved the fear that invoked in Rose, that perhaps her relationship with him wasn't as special as she'd thought. Oh yummy angst.

And K-9 was cute as hell!

Still loving the CGI (and I'm a CGI snob), the bat-things had a nice weight to the them, you could really see/feel them interacting with the walls, etc. around them.

Loved the DW episode -- I'd seen it when I "ahemed" it earlier. I was over at Dad's watching my hockey team lose and we flipped back between that and DW (he's a big DW fan). He loved seeing Sarah Jane and K9 again. He wasn't too fond of EC as a Doctor, but he really liked Tenant's performance in this episode.

I really loved ASH, he did a great job of conveying the alien-ness in his movements. Various head turns, but also when he was on the ledge watching them in the diner and squated down, the way he held himself was "otherly" and then bat version flew beside and did the exact same movement which just reineforced it. There were some nice edits, like when Kenny sees the bat thing eating under the table and the camera pans up and you see the teacher. That was kind of creepy to me.

Didn't get a chance to watch much of BSG (my team tied and it looked like they were going to mount a come back) but I'll catch it at some point On Demand.

I love that they're really doing the history of the series in a real and important-to-now way. And not doing a bad job of walking the line between "Rose is special" and "Rose is the latest in a long line". He really doesn't tell her anything, does he?

I'm not thrilled about Mickey.

Also love the unity of the new series. "Everything has its time, and everything dies/ends" I'm trying to put together where we're going, especially with Torchwood (again) because I know we're seeing hints and pointers. The "god" thing, lonely or otherwise, is going to be a thing. And "everything has its time, and everything dies" was not, apparently, just about the Daleks. But, since it can't be the Time Lords (It's not Doctor Who without the Doctor, yo), I don't know. Likely something with the human race stepping beyond itself.

I almost wish they'd gone somewhere with Rose becoming Mother of the Time Lords (or somesuch), by virtue of Bad Wolf.

Another great line:

"Forget the shooty dog thing."

Even better when they started comparing his habits like old and new girlfriends.

I love that they finally addressed DW always swapping out companions all the time. In the classic shows he always seemed somewhat emotionally ambivalent. It was good to see genuine, but guarded affection.

Don't forget that time lords only have 12 regenerations in them (13 lives). This one only has a couple left. I was a bit worried that the last one bowed out of the show so soon. Let's hope this one sticks a while.

And Sarah Jane is very much the one (of the ones as far as I've gotten) to do this episode with. I wouldn't have bought it for a lot of them. I'm only (in)to 4, though.

I feel your point on the regenerations (I've had the thought, too), but they'd have to burn another 2 bodies, at least, for that to be the ending.

It's interesting that endings are such a theme in the new Who. I wonder if they're building up to a big End of All Things.
