liked heroes a lot. i loved hiro and adrian pasdar (nathan) and ali larter (niki). did you SEE that the big guy was chopped in HALF? all the storylines have subtley (is that legal) different tones which is great. milo is too brooding if you ask me. should be on a different show. and i think they are kind of ripping off the 4400 with the 'we're here to save the world but why and when' thing...
Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
But it was a two hour pilot that got chopped right?Friends of mine saw the two hour pilot and hated it--except for Hiro. Interminable was their word for it.
also... why the did future-predicting man have to be a drug addict to tell the future? sooooooooooooooooooo boring. the greatest thing was that they used subtitles for the japanese instead of having them speak english with accents. that was so so good.
Hi, Claire.
I loved the twist with the brothers. I wasn't expecting anything I wasn't expecting, if that makes sense. Otherwise...too many people a bit too slow. But I will watch the next ep, because I do want to know how it develops. So they achieved that, at least.
Oh! I think it's a two hour pilot chopped into first week and second week. So they took Greg's plotline put it all into week two and made hour one work with the 7 characters. Wow that's a big cast. But you could see how structurally it might cause some pacing issues.
I don't think they cut it down to one hour - which might have been easier. Just wanted to be clear.
But yes, I love me some Hiro.
hi ita! still think heroes might be my favorite new one so far though. the smith pilot was pretty slick. but that's more of a 'we'll see...' jericho was... weird. and i love end-of-the-world doomsday stories.
oh, god, that was bad. But it had to be done.
Hiro's buddy called him "SuperHiro" after Hiro got chucked out of the karaoke bar.
I like Hiro because he was doing exactly what I've been trying to do for the last forty years or so. In my case, no matter how much I grimmace and concentrate, nothing. No telekinesis, no teleportation, not even a single damn lightning bolt from my hand. (Although I'm sure that last is just a matter of finding the proper arrangement of hand and fingers. One of these days I'll figure it out...)
Hiro was a lovely dork. I did like him a lot.
Is The Uncanny X-Men really that popular in Japan, though?
On the teleportation theme, I just heard that Steven Gould's Jumper is being made into a movie -- with Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, and Tom Hulce. Not sure how that's going to work. [link]
