maybe they're speechless, you're so brilliant.

The Great Write Way
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
You've probably done this, but- you have checked the group's really silent, haven't you? By going to the website or whereever? Is it a Yahoo group? Because I've been having some trouble with Yahoo groups recently.
If you have- brooze is probably your best bet.
Ah, the dead air of no response. Kind of makes you want to just burn the computer, change your name to Sister Mary the Quiet and join a Trappist monastery.

They probably wouldn't let me bring Bill, would they.
Well, angst fuels writing... I'll make a wild prediction and say my next story will probably involve being ignored... Try working porn into that, there's a challenge...
Ms. H., I'm noticing every group I'm on is mouse-quiet at the moment, and have been for a week or two.
Holiday ramp-up seems to have distracted.
coffee & raspberry scone
Porn + ignoring = Voyeurism? Hm.
Holiday ramp-up seems to have distracted.
Hope so.
isn't it the colonial spelling
Er, define "colonial" -- are you putting America and Australia in that one basket? I don't think it's the "commonwealth" spelling.
It's one of those things where I now want to write the word ten times one way and ten times the other way, but then it'll just be leached of all meaning and it might as well say "flerk".
maybe they're speechless, you're so brilliant.
Bartender, a round for the house on me.
(flerk, flerk, flerk... the word has... oh, wait.)
I personally try to refer all questions of whether the S gets doubled or not to whatever spell-checker is available. The rules for whether you do or not seem so arbitrary to me that I don't even bother to try to remember them any more.
Sympathies, Ms. H. Might a chapter a day may just be too much for the group to absorb? I need a whole lot more time to read 'n think over a critique which is why my participation in critique groups has dropped to zip.

I learnt to spell in Jamaica and Britain, and polished the skill in Canada. When Word first spat at travelled and focussed I was very traumatized. Or do I mean traumatised? Anyhoo, Word's US settings won't take it, but the Australian (and other commonwealth which is what I meant to mean since I always buy into the US's shucking of the label).
It's what I learnt.
