It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Susan, I got the nice agent lady over there. Whenever you're ready....

You done good.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I'm still amazed I actually pulled it off. I spent most of high school and some of college when I had time writing Chapter Ones. Occasionally Chapters Two and Three. And then I had a fantasy epic that was sort of cruising along, but then I went to England and met DH and reevaluated my views of the place/time/era I'd been adapting to fantasy (which had nothing to do with DH--just happened concurrently), so that fizzled out. And then nothing for years until I started this one.

I'm going to let it rest for a few days, and then start putting together a pitch for the writing conference weekend after next and polishing the thing until it's good enough to send to deb's agent friend and anyone else who's interested. And then, well, time to start the next novel, and put a little more energy into my freelancing so I won't have to go back to the Day Job post-baby.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yay, Susan! What a terrific feeling!

Can I ask a wee little question? Did the ending take you by surprise? Did you say, "But-but--I've got another scene, or three..."

Nup. Finished.

"But--"

That's it, you're done.

Or did you know it before you typed the last line?

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I knew what the last three scenes would be for months, and today I wrote them. I fully expect that the editing process will involve adding and deleting scenes here and there, and possibly adding an epilogue if I think it needs it on further reflection, but I knew this would be the ending.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yay, Susan. I'm happy for you...and hoping it rubs off. All the best to you with it.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I did it. I wrote a novel. I finished what I started, proved I had it in me, proved I'm not just a quitter, that I can push past my own laziness and fears. I wrote a BOOK.

GO SUSAN!!! WOO HOO!!!

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

Susan, that's excellent news. Congratulations.
