(rubbing hands gleefully)
Damn, I do like seeing writers write.
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.

Susan, you ROCK!!!!!
Well, you WRITE!!!!!!

Yay, Susan!!!
(I would like to point out, for the record, that the above excess punctuation marks are uncharacteristic, and merely the product of vicarious exuberance. I am in no way responsible for their impact, however, they are meant in the most heartfelt manner. Please resume your congratulatory spirit.)
I did it. I wrote a novel. I finished what I started, proved I had it in me, proved I'm not just a quitter, that I can push past my own laziness and fears. I wrote a BOOK.
YAY SUSAN!!!
Hooookay. The dance begins in earnest.
From my editor, re a trip to (gah) the East Coast:
There's no doubt that if you could get here we could get you appearances, or signings, or readings (with music yet) at bookstores; certainly the three or four mystery bookstores here (Partners and Crime does the best author events) and quite possible Barnes and Noble - possibly other things as well, like a library reading.
We could most probably do something of the same in the Boston area. And maybe we could think something special up, like an interview for one of the papers about your checkered career.
Leave out the "checkered career - because no way in hell, thanks - and this does sound as if they're willing to push it.
Off to check Skymiles accounts.
I read Eyes in the Fire while on the bike at the gym, and it could have kept me there for longer than 30 minutes, if I hadn't had to get back to work.
Loving it. LOVING it.
like an interview for one of the papers about your checkered career.
She needs a good editor. "fascinating career", "compelling writer's journey" perhaps. Checkered? Nah. I sniff pejorative.
So, I gather they don't want to spring for your flight, from the "if you could get here"? Hmph. Can you get expenses for accommodation then crash with friends to compensate?
Woo and also Hoo on the possible EC trip, sounds great.
Hmm...checkered sounds like I didn't make up the Dom thing.
I whispers quietly: Austin Austin Austin
Sounds like "Boston", okay? We have books here, too.
Also, got Barnes and Noble and Borders all over the place, too.
IJS...
San Antonio, Houston, and DFW all really easy to get to. A mini-Tx book tour...
I'll be quiet now...
