msbelle: Don't forget about Big Brother!
I think I said this last year, but: Big Brother is just like Oz. The show, not the place with Dorothy et al. It makes me laugh really hard.
Also, here is what is awesome about Will: He actually doesn't tell anyone anything. It's fucking awesome. Everyone else is always like "Ooh, I swear I won't tell anyone" and then they run ASAP to tell everyone. @@
OMG and PS, I just realized what he's really doing, and it's even more awesome.
Erin, sorry if I caused offense. I brought up that it was a charter school because not all their teachers are accredited, so it seemed relevant. And because part of their appeal is that they don't have the same bureaucracy, which is what seems to have backfired in this case. I wasn't slamming all charter schools.
No, no, Strega – it’s just that, as per Laura’s post: The charter schools I have seen if Florida range from wonderful schools with superior teachers and facilities to scams to get funds that do a horrible disservice to the children and community. In particular, the charter school near my mother's house is fabulous and a much better choice than the local public school. We went to an open house for one opening near me and it was clear that it was an excuse for the church to rent out unused space. It ended up closing 3/4 of the way through the school year leaving the kids out of step with the rest of their class when they were shoved back into public school. Like all public or private schools, the charters have a range in quality.
You can get some ass-tastic charter schools, as is the case with ANY type of school, but not all charters are. We have 100% certified teachers, and 62% of us have MA’s or above. And we serve low-income, urban core Hispanic students.
I really am proud of our school.
BB - so the cingular text quiz left off D.) Scott is gay and Cowboy an idiotic follower.
As for tonight's ep.... how does EVERYONE not see that Will lies to EVERYONE. He never wins competitions and yet he runs the whole game. and no one challenges him.
OH MY! it was the anti-brain trusts going at it.
HAHAHA re D.
I hope Boogie was about to go public about his "secret" alliance/showmance with Erika. Because I'm thinking that cat's out of the bag.
I really am proud of our school. As well you should be. I wish all schools and teachers and administrators seemed to care and care about their students as much.

Fixed my computer's sound card/seating/excorcism. I have tons of vids that have been patiently waiting for me. Now they don't have to be alone and scared any more...
I love my undead gay sound card.
Hmm. Watching Fight Science (thanks to Arliss for the heads up!). They're measuring the force of various arts. First up is the punch. Not surprisingly, the boxer has one. But I bet every TKD school is saying they could have fielded someone stronger. Just like any of the other arts.
Thing is, they've shown a number of competition one-punch knockouts. They're all hooks. The punches they're measuring are straight punches--delivered to the front of the face. Yet the RL knockouts, those come around through the jaw from the side.
It's fascinating stuff, but not exactly scientific method.
They're questioning the reality of a one punch knockout--I was surprised that was even a question. I have no idea how they'd measure multiple-punch knockouts anyway.
I'm torn between being fascinated and whimpering in an owowowowowwww way remembering back when my jaw was broken. FTR, one hit and it used a tetherball pole as a baseball bat. And was a TKO. My sister thought I was dead. [eta: I wasn't.] Good times.
