I'm SO hoping that flying is easier today.
Yes, I AM awake insanely early. Which is shading over into not-so-insanely late by Left Coast standards.
'Dirty Girls'
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Me too, Theo. 4:44. Good flying to you.
Allyson, I think you can't assume a caveman would have no fighting skill. He would not have technological skill, but he would live a pretty physical existence, particularly if a carnivore.
Cindy, this would be fabulous done by you. Please?JenP, you're making me blush. I don't know. I read it in your quote-back this morning, and heard, "Physician, heal thyself." Words to live by, or caffeine deficit?

Caveman's gotta hunt to eat. No guns or bows, which means to a certain extent, the caveman knows how to fight.
Right. And I was suppose the astronaut more "civilized." I would guess most people can get their psyches in fight-to-the-death mode when they need to, but I'm thinking the caveman might either start out there, or be able to get there, quicker.
I think hunting skills and fighting skills are significantly different. Generally prey wants to escape from you, not attack you.
Part of the problem is that "caveman" isn't defined. If you're talking paleolithic humans... they weren't hunting with their bare hands. Before bows there were slings and spears.
The other part of the problem is that nothing else is defined, either.
I am so sorry for anyone who flew yesterday. They say today is better, but still.
I'm so glad I don't have to get on a plane anytime soon. My sympathies to those who have to travel for whatever reason.
Ima go with caveman. If someone has to kill to eat, I'm going to assume they're going to be better at it than someone who doesn't.
Late to the party, but on this...
Question to wrap up the afternoon: what is your favorite restaurant?
I offer the following two: Dali (and warning, that site has sound) and Redbones, both in Somerville (waves to Somervillians, current and former).
I've had better meals at some fairly high end places in Boston, NY and Portland, but these are my two comfort restaurants (for different kinds of comfort). Tapeo, the sister restaurant of Dali on Newbury Street in Boston, is an acceptable substitute.
Oh and, going farther afield in Maine, Primo (though that link is being a pain).
In the Name of All That's Holy, Shut Up! — A Guide for Those Not of the World, While Living in It
This sheer genius of an idea sparked a very interesting discussion between Fella and me last night...and a new catch phrase for us both.
"In the Name of All That's Holy!" is the new "Hush YOU!" It makes us giggle.
And? It would be a terrific seminar...I see Oprah tie ins, magazine columns and a great future for sincere faith management skills.
Caveman or Astronaut--what possible weapons does each start out with? That's the whole thing for me.
If you're throwing a caveman, unarmed, at a former military guy, unarmed...well, the military isn't that well trained in hand to hand combat. That's why the centre does a fair chunk of training. No way we're getting everyone in the Air Force and...I think it's Army.
