Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

'Time Bomb'

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

move out and draw fire

Just back from Dinner Out, Night #2. This was the 52+26yo couple. Another embassy couple also, of which I know the husband but just met the wife tonight. She was the real revelation of the evening: She sounded exactly like Eddie Izzard. Sort of looked like him too, but wore less makeup. I kept expecting her to be funny.

New couple was nice and self-possessed and I liked them a lot. Restaurant was about $50/plate before drinks, but I wasn't paying. Mal spent the evening with his nanny, so I didn't have to apologize to any waiter for my child beaning him with a sippy cup.

Oh, the waiter? Bill Clinton and Michael Palin's love child.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aimée, you want I should let you know the next time I hear about Cat-Stacking Guy and his friends doing an improv show? I know he lives...uh...somewhere LA-ish. He not only stacks cats, but he's one sick snarky painfully funny little bastard. You and Joe would probably like him much. Or possibly want to hit him with sticks. It's hard to say

JZ, just caught this. YES PLEASE!!

Keep breathing!

Belated $.02:

You know what helps? Having a going-away ritual.

Yes, this. Ours is "knock-knock" joke that goes: Knock-knock
Who's there?
See-ya
See-ya who?
See-ya when I get back!

The bedtime version ends - See-ya in the morning!

DD added an enthusiastic "Ah-HOOO!" at the end that ends it with a smile. We do this EVERY day when I leave for work or shopping or whatever, and every bedtime. Works great.

Oh, dear.

Now, I haven't managed to get dressed today. Just decided it was a waste day, and stayed in my jammies.

So, went to walk Toto. Hot Upstairs!Neighbor was on the porch with Hot!Cousin and Hot!Friend. All single. And there's me, in my jammies and bra-less self. Couldn't even bring myself to ask Upstairs!Neighbor about Labor Day party, I was so embarrassed.

Someone remind me to get dressed before I go outside from now on.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

juliana, insent.

juliana's Social Secretary wishes to inform you that there is a reply.

Also, I just snarfed down a LOT of nummy bridge mix. Mmmm, chocolate....
