vw, I don't know if Central Square will frown on this, but when we moved, we basically had only enough energy to have the movers (we couldn't even do it ourself) pile everything that wasn't being moved up on the curb for scavengers or garbage.
If that helps. Throw it out! Probably doesn't help.
Oh, I'm throwing lots of stuff out. Tonight is trash night, which is why I'm going over today. Hopefully, if I can deal with the stairs ok, most of it will go out tonight.
ION, yay for Restaurant Week! I met my cousin for dinner at an Italian-Peruvian place in the North End called Taranta and I had the "pan roasted fresh cultivated P.E.I. mussels with Sicilian Marsala and tossed with Italian Bacon and roasted shallots" as an app, the GNOCCHI DI YUCA AL RAGU’ VERDE STILE SECCO PERUVIANO, Cassava root gnocchi with a slow braised “Chicha de Jora” green lamb ragu and shaved parmesan (Spicy) as an entree, and a cheesecake with papaya on top for dessert. All for $30.06! (plus tax, tip, and drinks)
Love Restaurant Week.
Ooooo! I forgot about Restaurant Week! I think some of my local restaurants are participating. I should totally check that out.
link for Restaurant Week
(it's actually 2 weeks, this week and next week)
Since everyone likes to share their Buffista dreams, I thought I'd share my most recent. Which, unfortunately, I can only remember one little excerpt from, but it was funny.
I was in a Walmart or Target store (one of those humungo kind of places) with Sparky and her DH. For some reason we were walking around the store doing yoga poses. For those familiar, it was pretty much all Warrior 3 pose. But, Sparky and her DH kept showing me up by being able to reach over their heads and grab the foot that was off the ground. I got so jealous, I woke up.
What is Restaurant Week? That link isn't sating my curiosity.
Restaurant Week is a week or two when participating restaurants offer a special prix fixe that's (in theory*) cheaper than either their normal prix fixe or ordering a la carte. It's supposed to let you try out restaurants that would otherwise be out of your price range.
Before this year, the prix fixe used to be the year, most of the time, but I've noticed that most Restaurant Weeks are bumping them up nowadays. ($30.06? WTF is that supposed to be?)
*I say "in theory" because, at least in NYC, it doesn't always work out that way. When they're offered, the RW lunch specials are normally a much better value than the dinners.
the A's owning the Mariners this year.
Yes, they do. And I was there last night to watch #15 in person. Gah, it was beautiful.
AL West is such a weird division.
True dat.
I sympathize with all the migraine sufferers. Today I woke up with a headache as big as Kansas and the urge to heave. Three hours and two pieces of bread later the tummy is slightly more settled, but the head still kills. Blech. Fortunately work doesn't start for me until this afternoon, but ugh. I don't know how you guys do it.
