"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Also, you should be forewarned- should you ever meet me in person, that's totally the kind of thing I'd yell in a crowded bar.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Daisy, trust me--that's not a problem!

AND OMG, I DID! The INTERNET COCKBLOCKED ME!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

And now, I'm to bed... If I can stop giggling.

suh-nerk!

But their total butt-monkeyness to the A's this year is almost unprecedented.

Yeah, Robert read a line from some sports commentator last night about how "only in fantasyland can one baseball team own another one. Unless you are talking about the A's owning the Mariners this year." AL West is such a weird division.

ETA: And it's a measure of how battered I'm feeling by the last couple of months that rather than being happy they caught the guy who killed JonBenet Ramsey, I'm almost crying for her poor parents who had to go through all that.

I am so with you on this. One article I read said that the Patsy knew they had a suspect before she died. It breaks my heart that she won't see this person brought to justice. She deserves that, if nothing else.

Also, it feels weird to have lived long enough to see a "cold case" potentially solved.

So, I was talking to mom last night, and she mentioned that she needs to make this month's quilt this weekend. I had forgotten that quilt class is a week early this month, because they're closing the shop for the last week in August to do some renovations (can't WAIT to see it when they're done! Supposedly there's going to be MORE FABRIC! I'll be in heaven). But, I was so hoping to have a quilt done to show off this month, but since I haven't even unpacked my quilting stuff, I doubt that's gonna happen.

Who knows, though. I could blow off going to the old apartment this weekend and just sew all weekend. That would be nice. Also detrimental to getting the old apartment ready for new tenants. Why do I have to be such a responsible person??

What is even happening?

I'd rather get the old apartment done and off my mind. I know you love quilting, but I also know you'll love the relief of never having to deal with your old landlords, ever again. Talk about EXCITING! t /stick in the mud

Yeah, that's basically how I feel, Cindy. Want to just get the damn thing done with. And so I will soldier on!

What is even happening?

The doing won't be pleasurable, but the relief thereafter will. That's what I tell myself whenever I have to do "have-to" stuff, when I have all sorts of "wanna" stuff. I seldom believe it in my gut, 'til I get the relief, though.

What do you have left to do at the old apartment, anyhow. And don't laugh (okay, go ahead) but isn't Not!Emily! Not!Even!Close helping out, in any way?

Trust my rage

One article I read said that the Patsy knew they had a suspect before she died. It breaks my heart that she won't see this person brought to justice. She deserves that, if nothing else.

This makes me happy to hear. I always wondered if the parents were somehow involved and I'm both happy to hear they weren't and sad to know that they had to live through so much.

Oh, and I agree - it's weird to think that I'm old enough to see a cold case solved. I'm so curious to know what led them to this guy. (Oh, and it seems like if something creepy is going to happen, it's gonna be in Thailand.)
