Timelies!

At least you have interesting dreams, Gar.

I have had some coffee. I have also taken the puppy out twice, fed the children and the puppy, and the puppy is now lying at my feet. I think I'm about to become one of those annoying people. Or maybe get worse. Baby stories all the time, and now puppy stories too. And lest she feel left out, my cat is a little peeved at me right now, but she's the only cat willing to be in the same room with the dog, so I'm guessing she'll get over it. I actually got her to purr last night, and I smelled like traitor (puppy!) so I think it'll be okay.

edit: I do too know the words I mean to use.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

We also have the car in for investigating the mysterious loss of air conditioning (which made driving around this week fun, I tell you what). I am hoping it doesn't cost a lot, because I would hate to drop serious money on something that is, for all intents and purposes, a luxury. I'd not even consider the issue at all, until next summer, except we have a long drive to Maryland next weekend and AC would be a nice option to have.

After my recent car rental/road trip experiences, I realized that my growing intense dislike of driving was almost completely related to the fact that my (now stolen/junked) car did not have working AC. There were other issues (the manual steering was a PIA as well when coupled with manual transmission), but driving a couple of different cars with working AC on long road trips has turned my thinking around on what was making such an ordeal for me.

In other words, despite the fact that we only need it a few months out of the year in this part of the country, if you plan on doing any driving during those months beyond day-to-day local driving, AC is not a luxury, IMO.

Hee!

I am so happy this morning. It's kinda sickening. I need to get busy doing some actual work instead of admiring the dog.

Well, my hope is that we can tough it out through the rest of this summer without (if need be) and then think about getting a new car in the spring, thus freeing us from dreaded car payments for another few months. One does get used to life without them.

Or, it might get repaired today and something else will go wrong next week. At this point (post 100K miles on a FORD, for crying out loud) who knows?

But, man. Since our driving commuting is so little now, it seems almost a shame to have a new car.

PUPPY! WANT!

Happy Belated Birthday, Deena!

My DH has come to terms with the fact that the next place we move must allow dogs.

Not at all, you've got a new kid in the house, you need quality time.

Mostly lurking...

I like happy!

I don't like car troubles.

I do like my new apartment, though, and so does Toto, it seems. Now to get unpacking.

Also, PUPPY!
