Hola Stephanie! What's the haps?
Hello morning crew!
It's 10-frakking-2 degrees here and humid, so naturally I spent the morning backpacking Mal around.

Ah, so my standard wave in all directions until I consult a map then?
I think so. I don't know where Eugene is compared to Portland except that it's about a 2 hour drive...
The ~ma does not seem to be working properly on this end. The transmission fluid is not fixing the transmission problem and I need new tires. I'll just be sitting in a corner freaking out now.
revs up more ~ma for sj
We also have the car in for investigating the mysterious loss of air conditioning (which made driving around this week fun, I tell you what). I am hoping it doesn't cost a lot, because I would hate to drop serious money on something that is, for all intents and purposes, a luxury. I'd not even consider the issue at all, until next summer, except we have a long drive to Maryland next weekend and AC would be a nice option to have.
sj, I hope the transmission issue is solved quickly... and new tires are good to have... but can they just replace 2 and move the front ones back or the back ones front? Or something? We've done that, rotate out two at a time.

Apparently one has a bubble, so I am going to tell them to replace that one and I will have to wait to do the rest until next month, when there is money again. At this point, I don't know how I am going to pay my insurance deductible when I actually get the car to the autobody place.
Announcement: I tried to listen to my coffee maker, to hear the sex Emily mentioned yesterday, but then the street cleaners went by and I couldn't hear anything.
Analysis: I need coffee.
Announcement: another weird dream last night.
There was some sort of supernatural serial killer golf ball on the loose - it killed in various ways including a mysterious power to attract and control wasps. It was finally put to rest by attaching a happy face sticker to the head of a nine iron. As soon as the happy face made contact with the killer golf ball it crumbled into dust. This was followed by a long pointless argument over whether the golf ball had a momentary peaceful expression before fading away.
Analyis: cutting out eating after six does not seem to have made my nights more restful.
Timelies!
At least you have interesting dreams, Gar.
I have had some coffee. I have also taken the puppy out twice, fed the children and the puppy, and the puppy is now lying at my feet. I think I'm about to become one of those annoying people. Or maybe get worse. Baby stories all the time, and now puppy stories too. And lest she feel left out, my cat is a little peeved at me right now, but she's the only cat willing to be in the same room with the dog, so I'm guessing she'll get over it. I actually got her to purr last night, and I smelled like traitor (puppy!) so I think it'll be okay.
edit: I do too know the words I mean to use.

After my recent car rental/road trip experiences, I realized that my growing intense dislike of driving was almost completely related to the fact that my (now stolen/junked) car did not have working AC. There were other issues (the manual steering was a PIA as well when coupled with manual transmission), but driving a couple of different cars with working AC on long road trips has turned my thinking around on what was making such an ordeal for me.
In other words, despite the fact that we only need it a few months out of the year in this part of the country, if you plan on doing any driving during those months beyond day-to-day local driving, AC is not a luxury, IMO.
