Angel: Connor, this is Spike and Illyria. Guys, this is Connor. Connor: Hi. umm...I like your outfit. Illyria: Your body warms. This one is lusting after me. Connor: Oh...no, I--I--it's just that it's the outfit. I guess I've had a thing for older women. Angel: They were supposed to fix that.

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Dude, I need some sleep.

Now tagless for your comfort.

The three hour nap I took from 6-9--I'm thinking now (at 2 a.m.) that it wasn't such a great idea. *headdesk*

What is even happening?

Cashmere, I hope you're not up, now.

Deena, the babies-puppy one-two punch is hardly fair. Nick in the costume makes this unbeatable. It sounds like you had a lovely birthday. I'm so glad.

vw, you're all moved! Good for you. May you enjoy your new home!

I've read some fascinating bits on where this whole notion of literalism came from. A reaction to science, and the encroachment of science on areas religion once regarded as its domain is one, of course. Another was a sustained encounter with Islam after large portions of the Muslim world were incorporated into the British Empire.
I ought to read about that. It's fascinating to me, and although I suspected it as a reaction to science, I never considered contact with Islam as a factor. I don't suppose any of it is online?

It's difficult for me, sometimes, to have a conversation where either literalism, or various takes on the doctrine of inerrancy are bandied about, because I understand enough about the actual beliefs behind both ways of reading scripture, and know that sometimes, they aren't so easily or well summed up, by either term.

Imagine a culture with no concept of God whatsoever.
I thought you were going to favo(u)r us with a Lennon tune, for a moment, billytea.

Mostly lurking...

It's the morning crew!

Poor Cashmere!

Hi, Cindy and Stephanie! It's good to see you both, but especially Stephanie, who I haven't seen in ages!

What is even happening?

Stephanie! You survived the storm, okay?

Trust my rage

Yeah, it turned out to be just some rain. It was actually way more gentle than we normally get.

Hi vw and Cindy! It's great to see you both too!

move out and draw fire

Hola Stephanie! What's the haps?

Hello morning crew!

It's 10-frakking-2 degrees here and humid, so naturally I spent the morning backpacking Mal around.

PUPPY!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Ah, so my standard wave in all directions until I consult a map then?

I think so. I don't know where Eugene is compared to Portland except that it's about a 2 hour drive...

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The ~ma does not seem to be working properly on this end. The transmission fluid is not fixing the transmission problem and I need new tires. I'll just be sitting in a corner freaking out now.
