The three hour nap I took from 6-9--I'm thinking now (at 2 a.m.) that it wasn't such a great idea. *headdesk*

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Cashmere, I hope you're not up, now.
Deena, the babies-puppy one-two punch is hardly fair. Nick in the costume makes this unbeatable. It sounds like you had a lovely birthday. I'm so glad.
vw, you're all moved! Good for you. May you enjoy your new home!
I've read some fascinating bits on where this whole notion of literalism came from. A reaction to science, and the encroachment of science on areas religion once regarded as its domain is one, of course. Another was a sustained encounter with Islam after large portions of the Muslim world were incorporated into the British Empire.I ought to read about that. It's fascinating to me, and although I suspected it as a reaction to science, I never considered contact with Islam as a factor. I don't suppose any of it is online?
It's difficult for me, sometimes, to have a conversation where either literalism, or various takes on the doctrine of inerrancy are bandied about, because I understand enough about the actual beliefs behind both ways of reading scripture, and know that sometimes, they aren't so easily or well summed up, by either term.
Imagine a culture with no concept of God whatsoever.I thought you were going to favo(u)r us with a Lennon tune, for a moment, billytea.
Good Morning, Bitches! I haven't been by here in forever.
It's the morning crew!
Poor Cashmere!
Hi, Cindy and Stephanie! It's good to see you both, but especially Stephanie, who I haven't seen in ages!
Stephanie! You survived the storm, okay?
Yeah, it turned out to be just some rain. It was actually way more gentle than we normally get.
Hi vw and Cindy! It's great to see you both too!
Hola Stephanie! What's the haps?
Hello morning crew!
It's 10-frakking-2 degrees here and humid, so naturally I spent the morning backpacking Mal around.
PUPPY!
Ah, so my standard wave in all directions until I consult a map then?
I think so. I don't know where Eugene is compared to Portland except that it's about a 2 hour drive...
The ~ma does not seem to be working properly on this end. The transmission fluid is not fixing the transmission problem and I need new tires. I'll just be sitting in a corner freaking out now.
revs up more ~ma for sj
We also have the car in for investigating the mysterious loss of air conditioning (which made driving around this week fun, I tell you what). I am hoping it doesn't cost a lot, because I would hate to drop serious money on something that is, for all intents and purposes, a luxury. I'd not even consider the issue at all, until next summer, except we have a long drive to Maryland next weekend and AC would be a nice option to have.
sj, I hope the transmission issue is solved quickly... and new tires are good to have... but can they just replace 2 and move the front ones back or the back ones front? Or something? We've done that, rotate out two at a time.
PUPPY!!!!!
