Anya, the Shopkeepers of America called. They wanted me to tell you that 'please go' just got replaced with 'have a nice day.'

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Tomato aspic used to be a fairly common dish. Lots of savory aspic /gelatin recipes out there, actually.

I've seen tomato aspic recipes before, but they were usually made with tomato juice. I think it's the image of these stuffed tomatoes suspended in the aspic that's weirding me out. (Also, how is one supposed to serve that? Slice through the tomatoes, or around them, or serve with a spoon?)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

My grandmother used to serve aspic. My mom loved it but it creeped me out.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Our friends are moving to Joshua Tree. They're musicians and artists and there's quite a community forming there.
Really? Mom still lives there and she's an artist and knows/hangs with many of the musicians. We could conspire to get your friends socializing...

The community really is turning into something wonderful for artistic types of all bends. It has been wonderful to watch and get to know a lot of the people involved.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Hello, my name is SuziQ. I melted in the heat yesterday and am pretending to be a human today. This has been a rough weekend in SuziLand.

I miss my Buffistas. I need my tribe.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I just turned in my final project for one class and am about halfway through my other.

Not bad for a pile of sweaty goo.

Aimee - what is up with the hot down here? We melted yesterday. Completely and utterly melted.

Today - it was a "it's not the heat, it is the humidity" day.

Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

No idea. I'm from Michigan and egads, I don't ever remember it being that bad.

I'm guessing locusts since we already did plague in May.

Our wings are not tired

Today was altogether too hot. I saw 111 degrees on at least one sign today.

Mostly lurking...

Woke up, went to the bathroom, made a pot of coffee, and walked the dog. Got back, went to pour the cup of coffee and realized I made a whole pot. Don't need a whole pot anymore. Silly Val.

This is gonna take some getting used to.

Talked to Emily at around 10 last night before I crashed. She was 10 minutes from Buffalo...making good time. She expected to reach her hotel around 1am. She's gonna to call before she heads out on the road today. Fortunately, she only has about a four-hour drive today, then she'll hang with some family and friends, which will be good and relaxing for her, I hope.

She called many times yesterday to tell me how cute her cat is and all the things that Bastet is exploring in the car. Sounds like Bastet is having a blast, which is really good. We were worried about that.
