Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Compassionately intolerant

Lost Boys is one of my all-time-favorites of anything ever. And Joel Schumaker talking about it on the anniversary edition makes me love it even more...if that is even possible within the laws governing the love of stuff.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Have seen Dirty Dancing, (loved the soundtrack. Patrick and Jennifer left me more - yeah, whatever. Although "Nobody puts Baby in a corner!" is a phrase that can be timeless comedy gold, on occasion), have not seen Footloose or Flashdance. Little bits of the one that had Kevin Bacon, whichever one that was, but not the movie proper.

But 80s movies I love include Lost Boys, Some Kind of Wonderful, The Princess Bride (if that counts), Beetlejuice, Heathers, Ghostbusters, The Breakfast Club, Indiana Jones ( if that counts) etc etc etc

Still haven't ever seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

(Plei, don't read this.)

Speaking of 80s movies that some of us love beyond all reason: August is when the Everything's Duckie special edition of Pretty in Pink will be released. With the original ending. Pete says that the look on my face when he told me about this was even better than he expected.

Always Anti-fascist!

Hopefully good. Cause I have too. But some I was too late for, maybe.

...um, never saw Pretty in Pink either.

I think I was probably reading trashy SF while everyone else was going to the movies.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

August is when the Everything's Duckie special edition of Pretty in Pink will be released. With the original ending.

You failed to white font, and I have HURLED with feminist rage at the thought of the whiny entitled emo white boy.

HURLED, I tell you!

I suppose I should sit through it though, just so that I can take notes and write up why it is that it makes me an angry little bunny in ways that make more sense than just FUME! But man, the gender politics of that movie are just blindingly evil.

It's cute, Fay. But it's not like not knowing who Lloyd Dobler is. Of course, I gave up dating a guy cause he didn't know who LLoyd Dobler is. (it was a shorthand for general communication problems, though. You know?)

Alas, we are never going to date, then.
