I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

Hopefully good. Cause I have too. But some I was too late for, maybe.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Speaking of 80s movies that some of us love beyond all reason: August is when the Everything's Duckie special edition of Pretty in Pink will be released. With the original ending. Pete says that the look on my face when he told me about this was even better than he expected.

WHA-HUH???????????

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

...um, never saw Pretty in Pink either.

I think I was probably reading trashy SF while everyone else was going to the movies.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

You failed to white font, and I have HURLED with feminist rage at the thought of the whiny entitled emo white boy.

HURLED, I tell you!

I suppose I should sit through it though, just so that I can take notes and write up why it is that it makes me an angry little bunny in ways that make more sense than just FUME! But man, the gender politics of that movie are just blindingly evil.

It's cute, Fay. But it's not like not knowing who Lloyd Dobler is. Of course, I gave up dating a guy cause he didn't know who LLoyd Dobler is. (it was a shorthand for general communication problems, though. You know?)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I think I was probably reading trashy SF while everyone else was going to the movies.

Oh, I did a lot of that. It's just there were certain movies that I made exceptions for.

Pretty in Pink is ... I can't explain. I not only identified with Duckie (AND wanted a version of him for my very own), but I assumed I was going to end up like Iona. Well, except for the (oh heck, I'll whitefont) part where she stops being quirky and gorgeously eccentric just because she's started dating a normal-type guy. I would be thrilled to bits if there was lost-but-now-restored scenes where that part is reversed, but I'm pretty sure they don't exist anywhere except in my head.

Ah. Like the bit in The Breakfast Club where they did the scary makeover of banality?

Always Anti-fascist!

Well, Fay, he was too old for me and quite possibly a schmuck. For the right person, I might look past my Lloyd paraphilia. Was just a symptom of a larger disorder, and it makes a good story, doesn't it?
