'Out Of Gas'

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

It's cute, Fay. But it's not like not knowing who Lloyd Dobler is. Of course, I gave up dating a guy cause he didn't know who LLoyd Dobler is. (it was a shorthand for general communication problems, though. You know?)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I think I was probably reading trashy SF while everyone else was going to the movies.

Oh, I did a lot of that. It's just there were certain movies that I made exceptions for.

Pretty in Pink is ... I can't explain. I not only identified with Duckie (AND wanted a version of him for my very own), but I assumed I was going to end up like Iona. Well, except for the (oh heck, I'll whitefont) part where she stops being quirky and gorgeously eccentric just because she's started dating a normal-type guy. I would be thrilled to bits if there was lost-but-now-restored scenes where that part is reversed, but I'm pretty sure they don't exist anywhere except in my head.

Ah. Like the bit in The Breakfast Club where they did the scary makeover of banality?

Well, Fay, he was too old for me and quite possibly a schmuck. For the right person, I might look past my Lloyd paraphilia. Was just a symptom of a larger disorder, and it makes a good story, doesn't it?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I didn't mind that Iona changed to "normal". I saw it as her choice to change how she dressed. Plus, maybe she was just wearing different clothes for that date, but still wore the kick-ass stuff when she was at the record store. Either way, I never thought she did it just for the guy.

Jilli, you weren't the only one. I always hoped she made him weirder, eventually. I've known couples like that.
