The movie my middle school best friend and I rented every chance we could get was Thrashin' starring Josh Brolin about 2 rival skate board gangs where Josh's character falls in love with the sister of a rival gang member.
I haven't seen this movie in decades but if I rented it I'm sur eit would all come flooding back.
And I watched a lot of Lost Boys.
Oooo, good plan. I think I'll do a Lost Boys/Crow double-feature. Yes.
Ooooh. I haven't seen The Crow in forever. I wonder if I'd still cry through most of it.
(hugs gothy clichés close)
Home from hair appointment. Hair is lovely and short. There may or may not be pictures later. It depends on how awful I'm still sweating.
Will someone come fix dinner? I hot and tired and cranky and don't wanna cook.
Good. In this heat, I want to go get a pixie cut and get what little hair is on my neck off of it.
I highly recommend it. The cut I got last week got all the hair off my neck. It was lovely this weekend.
I love Fame, Flashdance and Footloose. I am an 80's teen, what can I say? My marching band did a whole Footloose show in 1983 or 84. We opened with the 20th Century Fox theme, moved into Footloose, Let's Hear it for the Boy, and ended with Almost Paradise. We rocked.

Dave just came in and asked if he should take a walk before or after dinner. I laughed at his assumption that there was going to be dinner. I think he's going to cook now. Still writing paper. Brain still melting.
so the guy who wants to trim my tree - gave me a quote on sunday - that made me choke. I called him today to say I was getting quotes - and instantly it dropped 200.00 we talked a little more - and it dropped another 100.00 .
Lost Boys is one of my all-time-favorites of anything ever. And Joel Schumaker talking about it on the anniversary edition makes me love it even more...if that is even possible within the laws governing the love of stuff.
Have seen
Dirty Dancing,
(loved the soundtrack. Patrick and Jennifer left me more - yeah, whatever. Although "Nobody puts Baby in a corner!" is a phrase that can be timeless comedy gold, on occasion), have not seen
Footloose
or
Flashdance.
Little bits of the one that had Kevin Bacon, whichever one that was, but not the movie proper.
But 80s movies I love include
Lost Boys, Some Kind of Wonderful, The Princess Bride
(if that counts),
Beetlejuice, Heathers, Ghostbusters, The Breakfast Club, Indiana Jones
( if that counts) etc etc etc
Still haven't ever seen
Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
(Plei, don't read this.)
Speaking of 80s movies that some of us love beyond all reason: August is when the
Everything's Duckie
special edition of
Pretty in Pink
will be released. With the original ending. Pete says that the look on my face when he told me about this was even better than he expected.
Is it good or bad that I have seen all the se movies many times?
