Just tryin' a little spicy talk.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Happy birthday, Teppy!

Unless you've had enough of that.

What is even happening?

Ben's class did something like that in kindergarten, but it was more a performance of patriotic songs, etc., than a "moving on" thing. I don't know why I'm being cranky about it. Possibly because it was at 8 a.m.

Why in kindergarten? Did they switch schools for first grade, or something? Ben's just finished fourth grade, but here, middle school starts in fifth (which is way too early and a rant for an entirely different day). It was more of a performance/party than a ceremony.

Well, they're out. Ben got as good and/or better grades in every subject. Three other children from his fouth grade class will be in his middle school room (one other boy and two girls, both of whom are "okay, I guess" for girls), which is great, because we're coming from the smallest elementary school in town.

Julia got the same (great) grades, although she was also graded in some areas for which she hasn't received grades, before. She did well in those areas, as well.

It's over, and I'm so so so so so so glad. I bet the only people more happy than I am are the teachers.

Because books.

No one there had ever heard of such a thing, but both of my younger siblings had one and it was cute, so I did it

For little kids, I think it's fun. They love it, it's a way to help them understand that they're moving on to a new grade, a new teacher, what have you. I can't believe you did all that work yourself, though. You're amazing.

Why in kindergarten?

I wasn't clear -- it wasn't really graduation, it was just an end-of-year program, more for the parents to see the kids sing songs and be cute. Ben's teacher was into the whole teamwork thing, and working on a group project, so they made the decorations and practiced the songs, and all that. It was during class, too, not a separate event.

Ohmigod, I can't type today.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'd be willing to make it an annual celebration!
