[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Mostly lurking...

That IS good, vw!

Oh, good! Just making sure.

My plans for a Me Day involve sleeping...not very exciting. Possibly painting. Maybe I'll go wild and have a Lush bath.

Sounds wonderful to me!

What is even happening?

Oooh, Fay, you poor, poor, poor woman.

If I had the $, I'd be out there in a split second to give that to you in person.

vw, you are almost there. Good things. Good things, indeed.

It is 5:30 am here and it is already warm. Today is gonna be toasty.

I wonder what the ex-flatmate did that scared the giant bugs away from the flat?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I'd still be in therapy if I'd woken up next to a moth.

Anyone else picturing Arthur, from The Tick?

Well, I am now. Also, awwwwwww! I mean, yes, it would still be surprising to wake up next to him if I hadn't fallen asleep next to him. But still, awwwwww.

And continuing the bug theme, I left my apartment and walked down the (outside) stairs, and found two wasp nests a-building. This is why I'm glad I rent. I called the landlord, and he'll be taking care of it while I'm at work.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I wonder what the ex-flatmate did that scared the giant bugs away from the flat?

She was Bug Bane! Insects trembled at the thought of her! Roaches would terrorise their young with tales of her terrible...nah, nothing really. But as it's now Summer, the crawly things are more of an issue. And because she is less hysterical in the face of many-limbed intruders than me, she got to be The Competent One. If it were just me and a small child, or me and someone Even More Freaked Out Than Me (which is conceivable, I suppose) then I too can don the mantle of The Competent One. There's more squealing and flailing involved, but I can do it. I mean, if I encounter a roach while teaching, I will be able to be more chilled about said roach because of the 20 potentially hysterical munchkins.

But when she was here SHE did it. And she got to feel all Brave and Strong and stuff, and I got to run away and hide until it was gone. Which I was good with. Everybody won.

sighs

Good times. Good times.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

{{{{{Fay}}}}} You are so brave! Cockroaches are one of my big icks, too. Along with any other kind of beetly beastie that has hard shells and/or pincers, particularly if they can fly. I used to have nightmares that a flying beetle would cut my face all up with its hard little wing casings. Even ladybugs squick me to some extent. Not logical, I know, but how many phobias are?

I wanna see kitty pics! Pretty please?

Kristin, your AC problem sucks. I had an apartment in SD without AC or even a ceiling fan, but fortunately I got a wonderful crossbreeze going when I opened windows and you don't even have that! Ugh.

vw, credit~ma! Any chance you could get someone to cosign? I've done that for my daughter before.
