There are cockroaches in Mexico big enough to own property.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Virtual hug {{Fay}}. I know it's not the same.

I think Wonderfalls is worth a try.

Loving the kitty descriptions! They'll get themselves sorted out shortly, I'm sure (she says ignoring the fact that her cats still have periodic dominance tussles after living together for 6 years)

It'll all be fine, Fay. The price of the Big. New. Adventure is that the last adventure has to end. If it's any consolation, you're living a life many envy. There are even more people who are trapped in their drudgery for the rest of their lives and haven't the wits to dream of escape (which, needless to say means not any of the Buffistas).

You are an adventurer and you have my admiration. And hugs.

And what Pete said, as he said it so well.

And did I tell you about the time (cockroach font) I was using a squat toilet and a 2-inch or more (I swear it was the size of a chihuahua!) cockroach kept Coming Right For Me!!! I had to use the washing-up hose on him. Disconcerting.

That happened nowhere near Thailand. Um. Far far away. No worries. Really.

In mememe news, because that's all I've got, I'm in a mood. I actually had an honest-to-goodness anxiety attack on the way to work today! I think I'm going to drop Mal off at the nanny's tomorrow and have a Me Day, or something.

and, KITTIES!!! So happy that the boys found such a good home.

Oh, dear. Hugs to all that need them, and dirty jokes to those that don't like that sort of thing.

Fay - I hope the crawlie has done the noble thing and suicided down the drain by now. Raq - a you day sounds wonderful. Any particular plans?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Thanks, lovelies.

Jars, the beastie in question is, horrifyingly, much too big to go down the drain.

Yeah. I know. Not enough ick in the world.

However, I was Very Heroic Indeed and did manage to sweep it into a dustpan while trying to keep both brush and dustpan as far from me as possible and narrating the incident and giving myself a very high-pitched and nervy peptalk at a million miles an hour under the interested gaze of my cat, and then drumming my feet on the floor in sheer skin-crawly horror and flailing madly after I'd managed to transfer it into a bin.

Now I am eating Sweet Potato Fries and onion rings and chicken salad with fruit because I Deserve Nice Things as a reward. yes. And then there will be peanut butter cookies. Yes.

Jars - Jun 22, 2006 1:24:51 am PDT #1120 of 10001

I would say you most definitely deserve Nice Things as a reward. My worst creepy crawlie experience was waking up in bed with a moth the size of my fist on my pillow, next to my face, staring at me. I'm still convinced it was intelligent, and planning.

In other news, why haven't I gone into the lab yet? WHY?!

Mostly lurking...

Oh, {{{Fay}}}. Your cockroach story is much more traumatic than mine. But, it's recent, so I totally feel your pain!

Raq, a you day sounds fabulous. You'll have to share, so we can all dream of one ourselves.

I heard from my agent last night. My credit report came back average/borderline. So, they're gonna call one more of my rental companies from IL today to make sure I paid my rent, and all will be well. I hope. She said we were 95% there, so that's good, right? RIGHT?

I just want this process over and the papers signed. It's been kinda stressful. Of course, after that's done, then I get to start packing. Wheeeee!

I'd still be in therapy if I'd woken up next to a moth.

That IS good, vw!

My plans for a Me Day involve sleeping...not very exciting. Possibly painting. Maybe I'll go wild and have a Lush bath.
