I'm so sorry, but if it makes you feel any better, my fun-time-Buffy party night involved watching a robot throw Spike through a window, so if you want to trade... no wait, I wouldn't give up that memory for anything.

Happy Anniversary Aimée & Joe!

Ice fucking cold shower this morning.

Really more of a dash, scream, heat up pots of water on stove, wash hair under faucet, dash, scream, swear, soap, dash, scream, swear, pour warm water over head, swear, dash, scream, swear....

I know I'm clean, I just don't feel like it.

I should only have one first world misery to deal with at a time. Heatwave and burdened a/c, intermittent water or no hot water. Not all three.

Oh and I have jury duty tomorrow!

{{{{sara}}}} Is your area due for a break in the heat the way we are up here (alas, not until tomorrow, and I suspiciously note how tomorrow's high temprature keeps creeping up in the forecast)?

Well, surely the courthouse will be air conditioned, anyway. I hope. Yeah, I guess that does fall into the "small consolation" category.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not so small!

Well, surely the courthouse will be air conditioned, anyway.

I don't know for sure that it's not but it is a notoriously old and falling apart building. I've only had jury duty in the winter, though, and the heat worked fine.

What lisah said. I've been there early spring and it varied from warm and mildewy smelling to ice cold.

My work has a/c. And I don't have to be here at 8:15 am.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a little cooler, but still in the ridiculously hot category.

poor sara! I hope it's normal cool at the courthouse and also that there's no business going on there so you can hang out and read and go home early without getting put on a jury.

My boss went out and bought several free standing air conditioners yesterday to cool down our stupid office. It sort of worked for a while. But I'm working at home today. And drinking a boatload of delicious iced coffee. And eating lots of lime and mango popsicles!

Okay people, place your bets now!

Fidel Castro: dead, or not?

My vote is dead, but in an effort to dispel rumors, his brother will stage an elaborate Weekend At Fidel's scenario. Wackiness will ensue.
