What lisah said. I've been there early spring and it varied from warm and mildewy smelling to ice cold.
My work has a/c. And I don't have to be here at 8:15 am.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a little cooler, but still in the ridiculously hot category.
poor sara! I hope it's normal cool at the courthouse and also that there's no business going on there so you can hang out and read and go home early without getting put on a jury.
My boss went out and bought several free standing air conditioners yesterday to cool down our stupid office. It sort of worked for a while. But I'm working at home today. And drinking a boatload of delicious iced coffee. And eating lots of lime and mango popsicles!
Okay people, place your bets now!
Fidel Castro: dead, or not?
My vote is dead, but in an effort to dispel rumors, his brother will stage an elaborate Weekend At Fidel's scenario. Wackiness will ensue.
Somewhere in Dick Cheney's basement laboratory there are the reanimated corpses of Castro and Ken Lay. I'm not sure exactly what the plan is, but I think it involves the Ice Capades.
I gave serious thought to working at home today to avoid going out in the Heat, but since my little AC units can barely keep up, the work AC lured me out.
I've got to decide on my reading material for tomorrow. I have a horrible feeling I'm going to end up juried. (Blahblahblah civic duty rah!rah! but if I'm selected , it's going to be a pain work and morning-wise.)
If you're on a jury, you usually don't have to be there first thing in the am, so the lawyers and judge have a chance to do their thing. IME.
Castro seems pretty dead. Or at least severely incapacitated. I love the "message from Fidel." "I am fine! They will not be sure of my condition for a couple of days, but I'm doing GREAT!!"
Feh. It's only 10:20 in the AM and it's already hit the 90s. This morning is already so GROSS!
If Fidel is dead I'm not going home for another month. The Miami Cubans are already going nuts just on rumor. @@ The majority of them have no personal knowledge or interest in Cuba. Like Americans most of them have no huge interest in political matters. Their parents or grandparents hate Castro so they hate him too. People are partying in the street! To Calle Ocho! If leaving Miami and going home to Cuba were an option tomorrow we would not see any drop in the Cuban population in Miami. Which is a good thing. They have great parties on Calle Ocho.
