Matt, sounds like getting the medication changed is the best thing long-term. Not sure what you can do short-term because my usual suggestion is to get outdoors, which isn't a good idea in this weather. Maybe arrange for him to have his favorite dinner tonight?
Happy Anniversary, Sheryl and DH!
It's freezing in my office. Apparently, the building is cranking the AC in the morning, because they know that ConEd will make them turn it down in the afternoon.
I wish you guys could come and visit me for the heat wave. I haven't even plugged in my fan yet this summer. (Though there are days where I could have.)
Happy Anniversary to Sheryl and G!
{{Matt}} I hope that your dad returns to his normal personality as quickly as he fell into this depression. The support he has from you and your mother is the best thing he has going for him.
I'm kinda dreading the possibility of brownouts. One year , they cycled the high voltage off in 15 minute periods for my complex and its ancient air conditioners. Which means your compressor goes off, but not the blower. Which makes it HOT if you aren't around to dash to the thermostat and shut off the fan. Stupidass policy.
And today isn't even the worst.
And thursday I'm going to be in a decrepit city building.
FUN.
Only Mr. Cold Miser can save us now....
We may break the 1933 record for Hottest August 1st EVAR today. Um, yay?
My building has all the shades down, and I'm not using my desk lamp. But it's not especially cold in here.
Now, why all the shades are down on a day that is wicked hot but
cloudy,
I cannot say. I did wake up at 4am just from the heat, though, so the rest of today is about guaranteed to blow.
On the up side, I think I have (finally) mastered making my own iced coffee at home to my satisfaction, so at least I have something to get me out the door successfully. I have a carafe of cold caffeinated goodness waiting for me at home.
Hrm. It's possible I may be late for my interview, since it's 9:20 and I have no idea when the cab will get here.
Approximately when should I call to admit I suck?
Is the interview 9:30? Now. If it's 10, wait.
100 expected here today, but since it's routinely 90+ it hardly feels like much of an escalation. I am so tired of not being able to go outside. I'd rather live in Minnesota in winter; you can always put more clothes on.
