We may break the 1933 record for Hottest August 1st EVAR today. Um, yay?
My building has all the shades down, and I'm not using my desk lamp. But it's not especially cold in here.
Now, why all the shades are down on a day that is wicked hot but cloudy, I cannot say. I did wake up at 4am just from the heat, though, so the rest of today is about guaranteed to blow.
On the up side, I think I have (finally) mastered making my own iced coffee at home to my satisfaction, so at least I have something to get me out the door successfully. I have a carafe of cold caffeinated goodness waiting for me at home.
Hrm. It's possible I may be late for my interview, since it's 9:20 and I have no idea when the cab will get here.
Approximately when should I call to admit I suck?
Is the interview 9:30? Now. If it's 10, wait.
100 expected here today, but since it's routinely 90+ it hardly feels like much of an escalation. I am so tired of not being able to go outside. I'd rather live in Minnesota in winter; you can always put more clothes on.
It's at 10, flea. I figure I'll wait and see, and give him a call in the cab.
It's supposed to be 100 here today, too. After this interview is done and I pop by the Apple Store, I'm planning to drag myself home and stay in the central air the rest of the day.
As much as I'm whining, I'm reminded that the idea of unrelenting heat just makes me tired. Cold? Makes me want to cry. I get cranky either way if I can't at least get a little relief, but heat provokes a pro-active rage, which is by far more entertaining. Cold I just have a pity party. I am happier murderous.
I am so tired when it gets this hot. I don't sleep well, so I am just exhausted. On the flip side, I also tend to not eat very much, so that's good.
Today's forecast highs for both National and Dulles are higher than the current records.
I'd rather live in Minnesota in winter; you can always put more clothes on.
This is so me, except I'd be moving back to Maine. I figure it's one BIG reason I've never lived outside of New England (Pacific Northwest being the other option, but have never even visited to date).
I think I need to live where there's an ocean somewhere nearby. I don't think any of the Great Lakes would quite be enough.
