My thoughts are with you, Matt. I am glad that you are going over there tomorrow and that his medication was changed. I hope he comes out of this as quickly as the depression started.

Ugh, Matt. I think I would try to treat it like it was a physical side-effect; acknowledge that its painful and you're sorry he's going through it. 'Cause it sounds like trying to be too cheery or saying, "Oh, you only feel this way because of the antibiotics" might backfire; when you're depressed that can feel dismissive.
Does he like any games? Cards or something that requires a little interaction might distract him from how he feels for a bit. But mostly I think I'd let him lead the conversation, or lack of it.
I don't know how much any of that is worth, but I hope he feels better soon.
Skipping (didn't guess that, right?) to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Sheryl and her DH's anniversary, and wish a great day and a wonderful year to both of them!
It seems safe to say that nearly everyone in the US should be careful in the heat today, since it's supposed to be 100 here today, and they didn't mention it on the national NPR news -- they focused on CA and the midwest. Stay cool!
Thank goodness Jesse finally posted. Now the rest of us can start posting too.
They mentioned 100 degree temps in NYC on NPR. As well as the midwest. (They didn't mention California.)
Is Jesse the Post-Catalyst?
Happy Anniversary Sheryl and DH!
I went to a party and got stung by a bee.
And then I saw Drive!!! And played with cuddly beagles.
Isn't this known as "burying the lead"?
Matt, I hope the medication change helps. It may take a few days or so for it to take effect, though, so don't give up hope of that being the root cause of the problem.
Jesse, you'll be pleased to know the Weather Channel focused on NYC in their morning report.
Matt, I hope the medication change works. These things can take a couple of days but just being with him will help. Even if he can't be cheered up, it's best to have someone around to keep and eye on him until you see any positive change in the switch.
Happy Anniversary, Sheryl & DH!
After this past weekend of hell, I am officially job hunting. Anyone care to take a look at a resume or sample cover letter? Any and all critiques (short of "what the hell have you been doing with your life?") welcomed. In fact, scratch that. Anything up to and including "you're a loser who will never find another job." (Which voice inside my head has probably kept me in this job far longer than is helpful to my sanity.)
