Does anyone ever call an automated phone system these days without being warned that "our menu options have recently changed"?

Good luck!
Thanks. Now I have to go SHOPPING this afternoon. I'll need the luck so I don't expire from the heat, let alone the interview.
Good luck and happy hydration shrift.
I'm blanking totally on the name of the Jamaican movie (but the poster has a dread, running, on it) that my father and I were going to see when he came to visit me in Montreal. He grabbed the free paper to see when it was playing, and there was an article on it, headline "Pumpum power." Which is precisely akin to "Pussy power."
We changed our plans. Still haven't seen the movie. I feel I should. If I ever remember the title.
Now, my father is the guy who, when at 10 I asked him about Tantric sex or Playboy told me to do my own reading. At 23? We didn't need to be in the same theatre at the same time watching the pussy movie.
Corwood, I'm so sorry about the whole thing with your mom and with the van. Pretty much everyone has said what I would, but I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.
He looked about 3 when he was 1 year old, and people would just see him acting his age, and you could tell they were thinking, "What's up with that?"
This seems to be happening more and more. It happens a lot with kids in my family who tend to be large and then stop growing when everyone else starts growth spurts. It also happens with some friends kids, who are just plain big (shortest woman in the family is over 6 ft.).
I read a neat article in the New York Times, about a pastor at a Baptist megachurch "disowning conservative politics." Inspiring, I thought. [link] If you can't access it, try bugmenot for nytimes.com: [link]
There's a buffista login there, pword "foamy"
Thanks, libkitty. Sorry for the pity party in general.
Sophia, glad you're sticking with it. Soon you won't even hear the foul notes anymore in all that lovely music.
Erika, what could I do but bow and say "Swedgin!"?
I love how Ian McShane swears. He makes "pussy" sing.
I hadn't realised it was based on history. I was startled by stuff in episode 4, and so went to wikipedia. Interesting.
I was very sad to see Brom go. I like that actor, and the stuff he's doing in Psych doesn't do it for me.
Waaay late to the party, but the movie theater company I work for has made a rule that children under 6 can't go into late-night showings. (Whether they should go in at all is another matter, but at least we're trying.)
I don't think I had much censorship when I was young, but I think I had some serious blinders on at that age. I remember a Star Trek book I read that seemed very scandalous at the time. And another one about some girl and Stonehenge, and I think that was even a YA book.
I've spent the day being pissed off by Rush Limbaugh and my ultra-conservative coworker, and now I want to go home and cry and cry and start packing to move to another country.

nah. They're just trying to get you to listen to the options. Which you wouldn't have to do if there was a PERSON on the ohter end of the phone.
