Yeah, well. OTOH, another ex-field person is in HR. So.
Um, what do you say to an 11 year old when she tells you her mom is having a sleepover, from the nursing home? I hope "Have a good time and tell her hello" suffices.
Oy.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

You have my sympathies, Suela. I still can't drive past the emergency vet where we finally had to put my doggie down over a year and a half ago.
Also, is no one talking about Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic rant here? Or is that old news?
Thank you, everyone, it really means a lot--especially from those of you who've met him.
He was a dog with a lot of personality--he had the best nature of any dog I've ever met, even if he wasn't the best-behaved dog ever. I don't think I'll ever find another dog like him (and I'm not going to try).
{{{Consuela}}} 15 is plenty old for a dog. You did right, not letting him suffer anymore. If there's a doggie heaven, he's up there playing frisbee catch. Or taking a nap.
I wish Mel's rants would end his movie career, but they probably won't.
Y'know what? You never find a like. That's not a discouragement from seeking out new companions, not at all. You find those who remind you in the best way ever and give you unbelievable hope. You see traits you'd forgotten and make you smile . But each remains an individual who carved out a space in your heart. I've survived 6! dearly beloved animals and more than that by-the-grace-was-mine. My last childhood cat will likely die this year. And by god, every cat that yowls at me in Thimby's voice, cantankerous but demanding, will only make me love that damn cat more and laugh when I see her traits elsewhere.
It takes time. Time has time.
We're back from Roller Derby. It rocked!
Emmett was both fully entranced and a little freaked out by the violence. He didn't grok that it was scripted. He kept getting riled up and saying, "That's funny!" when somebody got laid out. But it felt weird to him too. He could tell he was supposed to enjoy it, but got all tangled up with "Hey, that guy got hit on the head with a chair!"
{{{Consuela}}} I'm so sorry.
teeny tinny KITTY!
I'll read Mel's Rant another day ....
Gronklies!
Yesterday I helped a friend recycle... which I thought would be maybe one trip in my car. It turned out to be 5 trips, back and forth across Cambridge (the city recycling yard is on the other side from her old place) with my car full to the gunwales. There were at least 13 black trash bags of clothing alone, many more paper grocery bags of random paper....
I get mucho big FRIEND points, right?
