Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't know if I have any but the one sports bra without underwire. All my other sports bras (7, I think) are underwired, not to mention my civvie ones. I've never been attacked by rogue wires or otherwise assaulted by them, and quite like them. They're not pretty, mind, but they do the job.

One thing that was weird was that I had to actively stuff down overwhelming emotion when the kids first took the stage.

That's not that weird. Unless I'm weird, too, which I suppose is possible, but that kind of thing always makes me cry. In a good way, but still.
