Aliens are always a seductive option, as well as some sort of miracle that made some of the annoying people go away.
If there were ever a miracle designed to curry my worship, it would be one involving the disappearance of all the world's annoying holier-than-thou proselytizers. My only worry would be that giving thanks might eventually result in going to the same place they did.
Dang, Matt. I parsed it a few times and came up with ... "the disappearance of all the world's annoying holier-than-thou proselytizers" ... is a thing I could get behind.
We'll save you a room. I think.
No, it's hard to explain what I like about "Deadwood" but I did not kill it. Blame the beancounters in Yankton. Jarry, uh, Albrecht and them.
A side bonus is that the language appalls my brother and makes him find an elsewhere to be.
I helped save the wire though.
ION, I am now home, and have discovered....
Someone wants a belly-rub! Yes he does! Yes he does!
Would that be you or the cat, Tommy?
Well, I'd like one too, but I'm not rolling around on the carpet on my back, meowing insistently.
Not now, anyway,
People and their cats. There is no explanation.
erikaja, This...
it's hard to explain what I like about "Deadwood"
...is a true utterance. People get it, or they do not.
Feh and double feh. The plumber(a different guy from yesterday) showed up around 12:15 and took a look around with his flashlight. At that time there was water around the water heater, but none around the floor drain. He agreed that there was no leak from the water heater(good), decided the water was coming from a crack or cracks where the wall met the floor(which, huh? That wall is right up against the next-door neighbor's wall) and that the floor drain was not clogged because there was no water around it. No charge.
Of course when I got back from work, there was water puddling around the drain. I tell you what, I am =not= staying home another day to wait for the plumber.
Waits for Sheryl's plumber, with a blackjack.
Yeah, Gus, it's true. I like the characters, and I like the use of language(above and beyond the awe-inspiring profanity) but I couldn't say that I watched it *because* of either of those things. It took me about four episodes to get past, well, "Yikes!"
