No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A whole bunch of bizarre sculptures throughout the world: [link]

Not exactly 100% worksafe, although these are all scultpures on public display, mostly outdoors....

That army of undead cyborg squid-human hybrids idea? It looks like it might be old hat. Owlmirror found an old and rather cryptic Japanese print of armored warrior cephalopods…and there's a much, much higher resolution image of the same at that link. I can't quite make out what they're fighting, though…an army of dumplings? Meatballs? Who reads Japanese out there?

Samurai. Squid.

So awesome.

My today is stupid. There are many reasons for this, but I will focus my ire on people who park at stop signs and stoplight traffic creep.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Matilda is a nice name!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Matilda, for reals? Love it! My (good) grandmother was Grace Matilda.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Matilda was actually my cat's name (still is her name, she's just someone else's cat now). But we're not naming the baby after the cat. Rather, the cat and the baby are both named after Roald Dahl's Matilda, which I have loved for ages and which also happens to be one of Emmett's favorite Dahl books (and one of his favorite movies), and anything that will make Emmett feel more kindly disposed toward his prospective sibling is very much of the good.

Which means that if the Halloweenie turns out, four sonos to the contrary, to be a boy, we may have to go with Wyatt Earp Smay. But we'll cross that bridge when and if we come to it.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

You can call her Mattie for short! (My mother's name, BTW.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But we're not naming the baby after the cat.

Likely story.

You guys could totally pull off a Wyatt -- total hipster name.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I know a Wyatt toddler, and it is a very cool and awesome kid name.
