Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hey brenda, how did your insane weekend go?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I saw in the paper this morning that the president fast-tracked Missouri's disaster application, so I was thinking about Anne and hoping she's OK, as well as simultaneously being annoyed at the NY governor, who hasn't even been convinced yet that we had a disaster.

But that's totally Bender's great-grandunit.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ugh. Back at work. No sleep on plane. So tired. Need coffee.

The hivemind is so useful. Thanks to Lee, and everyone else who weighed in on the garlic prawns issue.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Erika, I think the letter was imortant because it means they are starting to feel like an honest to goddam community who are pulling together to prevent the high-and-mighty cocksucker Hearst from ruining that. Also, I think of the current powers that be are getting a taste of what it feels like to be treated as less than trash by someone more powerful, and aren't necessarily reacting the way they thought they would to that situation. I suspect, given the historical details concerning Hearst, that victory over him may be achieved, but not on the usual terms for Deadwood (the town or the show).

I'm not sure that makes any sense. Plus, I'm speaking from the ignorant perspective of someone who's only seen a random handfull of the first two seasons.

A confusing anti-global warming poster: [link]

It seems to imply that if global warming continues, the skies of large cities will be filled with flying cephalopods.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

In that case, bring it on!
