Don't worry, I'm not gonna start any sword fights. I'm over that phase.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

well, they were mailed at the same time. So frustrating.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What's really odd is that I did get mine, and you know how that usually goes.

I just got my hall closet partway cleaned out. Anyone want some totebags? I swear they must have been breeding.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Timelies!

It's another grey and somewhat sultry day here in MA. I suppose it could be much, much worse.

Mostly lurking...

Yeah, we could have the horrible heat like the poor West Coasters.

I was skimming in here yesterday and someone was looking for an Emily update, so I thought I'd post one.

I talked to her several times yesterday, and she was doing well. I'm assuming she made it to her hotel early this morning. She was expecting to arrive about 1am. Bastet is traveling great. She found a spot in the van that she just loves and has settled there.

Apparently, she had some trouble getting into Canada...her van full of stuff and her cat...they didn't believe she was ever going to leave. She must have somehow convinced them, though.

I expect to hear from her in a little while. She's got a four-hour, or so, drive today, then she'll be with some friends and family for the rest of the day, which will, hopefully, be good and relaxing.

That's good news indeed. I really hope she slept well, because she's got a tough week ahead of her! I half expect her to get somewhere like Omaha and decide she doesn't want to do any more driving and start checking out the school-teaching possibilities.

Yesterday, Veehemently was sitting in the van's driver's seat to get at something while Emily stood outside, and I suggested that they just trade lives. I still don't understand why they didn't go for it....

Possibly, I shouldn't be allowed to plan anybody else's life but my own, and even that's in doubt.

Ha!

Well, Nutty didn't have her driver's license with her. I think that had something to do with it :).

And you do just fine planning your life. And you were a GREAT help yesterday!

Now tagless for your comfort.

He bit her a few days ago, while she was crating him. He's back at the pound, and this time she's not rescuing him. She has a household that includes another dog, her mother, and her 11 year old son. I feel bad for her.

I do, too, ita. It's sad but she did everything she possibly could to retrain the dog and give him a home. She can't risk her safety or the safety of her family. There's still a tiny chance they may find someone who can deal with a difficult dog.

I'm celebrating my new toaster oven with TJ's naan.

I didn't know they had this. I'm making a note.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It cooled off here! For reals! It's only 68!

Maybe now I'll actually do laundry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's 81 in my apartment. Which is nice--I slept with half a blanket on. I like sleeping with a blanket.

Yesterday was a wash after I got home. Moving made my head hurt so much that just sitting up to read had to be bailed on. I probably slept from whenever my last evening post here was until 10:30, when I transferred to my bed and tried sleeping some more. That was no fun.
