Well, then. I take it he's not happy with work/city?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think the concept is exciting, because it's simple and terribly profitable. I think the pieces of artwork are dull as all hell.

Totally. And all the numbers I'd want are gone.

Um, Lee, toxic pit? Oh dear.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I think he was referring to Butte's Berkeley Pit [link] which luckily I had heard of, and the (unrelated) fact that he might have to go to Butte for a case, which I knew.

Still weird though.

Always Anti-fascist!

Why the Inner Harbor makes me think of shootings: Because of an incredibly(some might say manipulatively, including me) heartrending H:LOTS where a kid stops somewhere to look at some dinosaur stuff and gets shot while the shooter is aiming at some other teenager his gf is cheating with. The kid dies(but unusually for Homicide, not right away) he's on life-support so we all watch Marcia Gay Harden Cope With Grief and fight with her probably equally notorious and award- baity husband. It's not especially dangerous there(unless tourists give you hives) it's just the first time I ever heard of it so it stuck.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Say I mailed something from the US to Canada, and the address indicates province, postal code, etc., but does not actually say Canada. Any reason to think it won't go through?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

brenda, insent.

Another strange thing to do with your money.

Hey, 680 is only $192. What a bargain!

The incredible slackness of the post office? Seriously, I'd be worried. I mean, if you get an on the ball worker who realizes that Ontario is in Canada, you might be okay.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Problem with Ontario is that it's also in California.

I have no idea how they perform mail sorting, but I'd imagine postal workers get familiar with all sorts of postal/zip/etc codes--moreso than us. Some strange illegible stuff gets to where the sender meant it to go.

Oddly, a postal worker told me that illegible is better than wrong. If, for example, you put the wrong zipcode on something, they are obligated to send it to that zip code, even though they know damn well that Beverly Hills is 90210, if you put 92010, it goes to Carlsbad. If there is no zip code, just Beverly Hills, CA, then they look it up and send it to the right place.
