Thanks. Is all head-butting a red card offense? I mean, head-butting someone in the head seems to me to be more egregious than head-butting in the chest.
Natter 45: Smooth as Billy Dee Williams.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It was a totally assholish thing to do.
Definitely. No reason or excuse for it at all.

Not sure, but I assume attacking any player off the ball is red-cardable. If you see the replay, you'll see just how utterly stupid it was. I can only assume that he was supremely frustrated by just having a beautiful header stopped by Buffon (the Italian goalie).
Any kind of violence towards another player (that isn't going for the ball, and even that if done dangerously can get a card) is red card worthy.
-t,
We've gotta stop meeting like this!
Well, the World Cup is over. That should help.
Got it -- can't attack another player without the ball. Makes sense. Wow, that really was stupid of Zidane.
I'm telling you, I generally try not to identify with sports teams or players, but he made me ashamed to be French.
A thing I love about my neighborhood/New York: this whole World Cup, the neighborhood has seemed especially Brazilian and Mexican (the Bangladeshi and Ecuadoran soccer, nsm), but today there were some little kids on the corner freaking out with Italian flags, and someone driving by honked and waved out the window. There's someone to cheer for any given country, apparently.
I think I need to start carrying green and red cards so that I can instantly, yet silently feedback some public behaviors, like the Mom who wasn't disciplining her children to be quiet in a panel yesterday. The first time is a green card offense....
