Sir? I'd like you to take the helm, please. I need this man to tear all my clothes off.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, WTF is up with "business hours"? 48 takes us into the week after.

I got that the other day! So jacktarded. They mean two business days. Edit: I mean, I know you know that, but where did this stupid thing come from??

OK, that was just insane. Good god. Maybe they give them scripts, but ferchrissake, who thought that script was a good idea? That's just sure to result in an angry customer. Sheeit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thing about a support scenario--once you've determined the product is faulty, you're dealing with someone who shelled out close to $2K, and has nothing to show for it.

This person still has to buy a laptop somewhere. This person has bought three computers from you so far, not counting the DOA one. Next time my mother tells me she needs a new computer it's damned well not going to be a Dell.

All she had to do was to be nice to me. Pleasant and accomodating. Computer would still be broken, but if she'd just said "We can't tell you when the computer will be picked up--UPS will contact you same day to warn you. What? Someone here said we could? No, I'm afraid you were misinformed. We cannot. Sorry about the inconvenience." or SOMETHING LIKE THAT I'd have had an extra half hour to nap.

Also, I just realised the new fan needs fucking assembly.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That sucks about the dress, ita. I had an ebay dress rip on me recently too, but on the side hems, where it is easy to fix.

Have fun on your trip tomorrow, Sarameg.

Today, somebody hit the office with a stupid stick, and neither the vet or the pharmacist called me back. It was annoying.

Assuming you were talking to me, msbelle, unfortunately my mother and sister need to have Windows boxes for work compatibility reasons, and at that point, my dad goes along for the ride.

What is even happening?

Oh, ita needs Martin Blank to go see the Dell people, right now.

ita, I'm glad you let them know you weren't satisfied. I'm sorry for your poor head, though.

I wasn't really suggesting it, as I understand the windows work thing. I am just chanting things in threes.

Exactly. Basic rules are tell the truth even if ugly, apologize and do what you can, even if it isn't good enough and acknowledge that. It buys many hours and much appreciation even if the client is disappointed. They won't have cause to hate you and not use your product. I can't believe this shit, and yet I can, having walked out of a CompUSA and sworn never to return after some misinformation and blatantly bullshit sexism. Which is why I need to become VP of customer service for some large company.

Also? TJ's strawberry fruit floes are addicticve and I just ate the last one and I'm headed to TJless territory and while the ff are relabeled versions, I doubt I can find either version where I'm going. And they are really good.
