Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

ita, are you still thinking of buying a new(er) car?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Got one that comes with a hairless cat?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Right now, less so.

I want an estimate for the dings and scratches so I can assess resale or trade-in value a bit better.

I really don't want a new monthly bill, so if I know how trashed the car is, I can plan & budget properly for minimising a car payment.

I'm really just not excited by any of the new cars out there. Every time I rent a Jetta from the dealership I get pouty. Though, the electric seat-recliner thing does rock pretty hard. Still, the brakes are mushier than mine, and the engine too slow to respond to the gas pedal.

I should test drive other cars before I get properly pouty about my prospects, though. Otherwise it's a 2003 (I think that's the last VR6 year) used Jetta.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy birthday, David!

I am the reason the sun is shining in New York -- I wore a raincoat to work, even though I left after it had stopped raining. But it's so windy, I knew the umbrella in my bag would be useless! If I were to be out in the rain. Which I haven't been.

Some VWs and Audis share the same chassis - are there any Audis you like that have the VR6 or similar?

Hmm. Research time.

blueberry muffin:

I just got called into my manager's office for not doing something I actually did. I wish every work scenario that seems gloomy could be resolved with that little effort. "No, not that attachment, this one."

Voila! Off hook, and on to the detailed editing of the report.

It looks like the Audi A3 has the same chassis as the Jetta. There's a V6 version that's a lot pricier than the four cylinder model (don't know if the V6 is optional on the cheaper one). The four-cylinder, however, is turbocharged and puts out 197 HP, which isn't bad....

Thanks! I didn't mean it was research time for you, but I'm diving into that link with glee and gratitude.

Oh, I know - I was just curious myself....

Also, have you considered Acura? Their smaller cars are quite sporty and highly regarded....
