It looks like the Audi A3 has the same chassis as the Jetta. There's a V6 version that's a lot pricier than the four cylinder model (don't know if the V6 is optional on the cheaper one). The four-cylinder, however, is turbocharged and puts out 197 HP, which isn't bad....

I have a coworker who has...an RSX, maybe, and likes it quite a bit. But then I hear bad things from other people about their reliability. But they're the only car on the list.
I really should get over my suspicion of American cars, because I can't back it up with anything.
Husband's two Acuras have been nearly trouble-free. I'm pretty sure most of the Acuras are a good 75% Honda parts.
Oh, and if you want something that's relatively inexpensive and has a shitload of bang-for-the-buck, have you considered the Subaru WRX? It's a very fast AWD turbo....
