Ah man, I'm watching a Frontline that is on Zimbabwe. I'm reminded of what a beautiful and fucked up place it is. I wasn't supposed to go there, but we did. So much potential, and that horrid Mugabe.
eta: When in Harare, we got stuck in a traffic jam. The cause? A motorcade with Mugabe. The vehicles were spiked with machine guns.
I'm trying to remember where I know the journalist, Alexandra Bloom, from.
eta: jeez people. Make me look like the freak I am and don't post.
And now Frontline has a thing on deaths in illegal border crossings. Dad has gone out on three S&R missions where they've found a body. Fucking depressing. All the walls and HS are channelling crossers into NM and really bad AZ desert, much like what happened in the Sanctuary movement (Sanctuary in NM in the eighties included a lot of university or gov't lab folk. They used arpanet to coordinate smuggling, which makes me laugh a whole helluva lot. Including Los Alamos!!)
I, on the other hand, am watching Queer Eye. I haven't seen it in a few years. The guys look so different! Ok. Not that different, but it's like S2 and S5 Buffy.

Let me know if they tell the straight guy "You came back wrong!"
bt, Dude! He's not even straight! They did a gay guy! Now, he's as straight as you can be and still like guys, but still, homosexual!
I am so a child of PBS. How many times have I seen the Pompeii thingie? (OK, and I don't have cable. God only knows what I'd be watching were I to.)
G'night kiddos.
Ummm, QE did a makeover on a QG? Huh. The show has come back different.
I watched The Best Man on BBCA and Rescue Me where the
karmic return thing hasn't happened yet --
but we were told it wouldn't. Interesting that
Angie and Tommy
both think that
Janet and Johnny will be
messed up by the idea that
they (Tommy and Angie) are dating.
I'm still trying to decide if
the Johnny-Janet-Tommy thing
is more about
Janet or more
about
the brothers. I am leaning towards the brothers. The Franco-Susan Sarandon character- kidnapping -- more interesting than I had thought. Well, SS's character had such an interesting yet WRONG rationale for what she did.
The QE guys did a queer guy? That is so funny. And yet? Sometimes queer guys need a makeover too.
Exactly. And this one so did.
I passed what looked for all the world like a racing VWBug, being towed on a trailer
Could have been. They race them in rallies, and possibly track races too, I don't know.
although he has expressed reservations in the past wrt LDS's stance on homosexuality
Nothing to add to the wise advice, other than to comment that at least one of my Mormon friends does not agree with the Church's position on homosexuality, so this won't necessarily be the deal-breaker. My own experience with dating religious proselytizing teens when I was a teen suggests that teen dating is more about finding out what works and what doesn't, and what you'll tolerate and what you won't, and basically just trying relationships on. It's probably good experience for both of them to decide how important religion is in a partner.
They used arpanet to coordinate smuggling
I didn't know that! That's awesome.
