If you fly, I'll bet kitty is small enough to go incabin. For which I recommend duffel like soft carriers. And puppy pads lining it in case of accidents. Man, I'd love to be your seatmate because I'd so totally smuggle the cat out.(One time, I got bumped to first class and my seatmate was travelling with her kitty and the cat got lots of attention, let me tell you.) Juliana probably has the best advice should you go that route, as she's actually done it and I'm just making things up!

But...but...but...the flight only takes 5 or six hours, right?
Oh, the flight won't be much stress at all. It's the packing ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, the figuring out what I'll really need, inevitably forgetting something completely vital, trying to fit stuff into a few suitcases, worrying about missing the plane, worrying about the cat, worrying about being picked up at the other end, et cetera, et cetera.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to drive cross country, but I imagine doing so alone would be really tiring, and not devoid of stress.
Well, yeah. But if I had about a week to do it, I'd totally love to.
You could probably rent a minivan for about $700. Don't know if that's in your budget.
See, taking her on the plane sounds so wonderful... except she'd probably bitch and moan and yowl the whole trip. Not so wonderful.
That's where the drugs come in.
For you!
Besides, from my experience they lose their voices after an hour. Ok, that probably doesn't help...
Funny thing at the salon today. There was a guy in his 50s in for a cut who got convinced to color as well (peppery color.) I hadn't seen him come in. After, he was fretting it was too fake looking. I looked over and...uh. Dude? You just got dyed? You sure? The owner had done a fab job. It looked like natural salt & pepper and I have no idea how she did it. Then a new customer came in and they asked her, and she had the same reaction. The expression on the guy's face was priceless. It was funny.
Emily, do you have an address in CA already? If so, you could always ship some stuff to yourself. I did that once, shipped a few boxes UPS to my new abode.
Emily, do you have an address in CA already?
Er... no. Once things start happening, they're going to be happening fast.
Emily, definitely check out Craig's list.
I've been looking there as well as other places, but why specifically Craig's List? It's a bit harder to search there than some other places -- what benefits do you feel like it offers?
