I can handle this. It's just weird and makes me fgo AHHHHCK. I suspect it may just be personality type plus I think he's really grateful I took the time with his daughter (and she apparently liked me.) But like I said earlier, the personality type is not one I deal comfortably with, or even understand. Which means a lot probably comes across wrong to me. I'll just stick to my friendly but reserved approach.
I can't totally disengage because of T. I mean, she was so freaking excited to tell me about the auditions. I really want to see her perform. FTR? Kids count a lot more than possibly problematic adults in my world. It's put me in some awkward places before and it probably will in the future. Thank goodness for my big bubble of NO.
But K, in whose honor we are all going, is a vegetarian.

The mention of churrascaria (which I don't think I've had but wikipedia came to the rescue) makes me want to get to go from Maria Luna, my nearby mexican place (it is central and coastal mexico, so not my One True Mexican, but omg, it's good.) Maybe the lamb thing again. Really, I want to figure out how to make the lime-cilantro rice. It's so delicate and not overpowering, but I could just gorge myself on it.

You know what? I think my parents had that last weekend. They were describing it to me and that sounds about right. They were big fans. In fact, it got the toddler of mom's former co-teacher to eat meat and LIKE IT for the first time. Jesus and his wife were stunned. The toddler ate himself into a food coma.
Tonight is Pilots From The Free Table Night over here, so we just watched Heroes and Studio 60.
Heroes
is good -- definitely gets better once they're past the midpoint, because it's very top heavy with exposition. Characters having conversations like "Yes, I know, I sound like my father." "Well, you always did want his approval." and so on.
But the last ten minutes are pretty great. A few really neat things happen, and the writing actually starts moving the plot forward instead of just introducing people. Plus, Adrian Pasdar! On TV again!
I know Greg Grunberg appears at some point, but the screeners that were sent out were only half of a two-hour pilot, so I haven't met him yet.
Studio 60 was also really good -- it does not get bogged down in exposition, and the writing is top notch all the way through. Matthew Perry is kind of amazingly good. He's hysterically funny, and yet not at all playing Chandler. The whole cast has terrific chemistry.
sara - let me know when you need me to come to town as your fake girlfriend.
I am up too late, but I had good decompression tonight after a super vfrustrating day to end a really frustrating week. Hung out with 2 different friends at their places (about an hour at each - only a block apart from each other).
