Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

...and now the plumber is singing.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Yeah, that whole game is just so offensive, maybe it's not surprising that it's not uniformly liked by the Christian Right.

Seriously -- when James Dobson is being called upon to be the voice of reason against far-right Christian supremacist whackaloonery? Pretty much the textbook definition of "gone too far."

[eta: Granted, Jack Thompson also has lawsuits pending against pretty much EVERY video game on the market, but it's still nice to see that it's not just us godless liberals who find this game unbelieveably offensive.]

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, that whole game is just so offensive, maybe it's not surprising that it's not uniformly liked by the Christian Right. (In the game, Christian soldiers have to either kill or convert everyone else....)

Didn't the Flanders boys used to play that game?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I was going to tell you not to be such a negative nabob, Nutty, but actually, this is the right thread for that sort of thing.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Grammar question. Is it correct to say, "These need to be put into two separate binders and they can be entitled "2006 Stuff."

(Note: I did not say this. It was overheard.)

Aimée, I think that binders can be titled, but I don't think they're entitled to anything.

"These need to be put into two seperate binders and they can be entitled "2006 Stuff."

To me, it seems ambiguous - is the putting into two separate binders required before they can be entitled "2006 stuff," or are the two independent?

edit for spelling....
