Mini-cactus?
The dollar section at Target had little mini cactus things recently. At least the ones around here did.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

oo! flip flops!
this Vietnamesse product contains rice wine, ginseng root, seed pods (ummm, which seeds exacatly?), red pepper ellets (for medicinal purposes) and a real green tree snake. In fact there are two snakes "artisically arranged" to show a cora with fully displayed hood snaking on the green tree snake. Delightful.
The snakes are left to ferment in the wine for "some weeks". It is no doubt this period when the "mystical sexual stimulative properties" are created. Of course this statement would make this product immediatly illegal in most Western countries. The product is also "believed to boost longevity, have high therapeutic properties, rheumatism, lumbago, back and muscle pain". Cost is 30 euros plus 15 euros shipping.
OK, that has me gagging.
And yet a worm in the tequila doesn't.
Oh, that reminds me: if you have any slimey gross out issues at all (CSI has made you gag? ) should you start to see the trailer for How to Eat Fried Worms, IMMEDIATELY close your eyes and plug your ears for the duration. I was caught off guard when I went to see Over the Hedge and I avoided hurling but just barely. Very very barely.
mescal.
they have no idea if his first word was Spanish or English.
My nephew is spoken to in bothjapanese and english- and his babblings were a a wierd mix of english and japanese syllables. he speaks a bit of both now. he ( at not yet two) is also very clever. he knows how the speed dial works and has taken to randomly calling DH's cell phone and yelling 'Unca Matt' into the phone.
and if you are going into the dessert you should have a parasol. but they may eat up most of the budget
eta - sorry flea for makeing you look crazy - I wish I didn't leave words out. anything that is more formal than the board I read everything out loud to see if I have done this. I t will be way easier when I can just think things at the computer

I. HATE. Visio. I also hate making flow charts.
sits in corner, sulks.
My cousin's kid had two language babble. He'd only use the japanese babble with his paternal grandparents and his dad. With his mom(who did speak japanese to him as well)& her family he'd use an english babble. And they really did sound different. It was neat.
I know what beth meant, but it makes it look as if her nephew, although hearing Spanish and English at home, has spontaneously begun to speak Japanese!
Has anyone found a simple online guide to what World Cup games are being televised on major networks, during non-work hours? I'd like to watch some games, but have neither cable nor the sort of life that allows me to visit Brazilian pubs at 6am. And I am lacking google-fu today.
I spoke too soon: Sports Illustrated comes through [link]
Games tomorrow at 9 (Paraguay-England) and 12 (Sweden-Trinidad and Tobago), and Sunday at 11:30 (Ireland-Mexico) on ABC, to start.
